"Brett came out and inspected the roof and told me exactly what was going on (only condensation) and said I only needed some venting and even told me we could even tackle it ourselves but I asked for a bid to install it. The other bid I got from a contractor said I need a whole new roof . He was very detailed in his explanation and told me my roof would last many more years. Honesty is something homeowners do not always get with contractors so I value his honesty. I know that we will look to them in the future if we are in need of roofing."

Since then, I have hired them to clean some roofs, another time to remove a chimney that was no longer needed (replacing the area with roofing), and still another time to re-flash a chimney where leaking had occurred. "He and his crew removed the old roof and installed a new one. Due to the harsh environment (high winds, salt air) extra stainless steel nails were used. Phil took time to explain coastal roofing challenges and used pictures of our roof to show us the existing condition. Workers were safe and polite. Work area was left in good order each day; project was completed promptly and looks great. After a big wind and lots of rain, gutters drain well and the roof is secure and well sealed. I would like to emphasize the importance of using a roofer who is familiar with coastal conditions. Our previous roof tiles were in good condition, but the wrong nails were used and therefore deteriorated prematurely."

"Remodels are never easy, as there are always factors you can't know until you get underway. How a builder handles those surprises is what determines the grade I give. Chris from Halvorson Mason was excellent at first understanding what we wanted, and communicating clearly throughout the entire build. If a delay was a possibility, we discussed how to proceed and agreed on process. Chris' experience was invaluable for us as remote customers, as he guided us to excellent supply partners, and saved us money on several key choices, which we appreciated. He also respected our decisions when opinions differed, and we never felt undermined in what we wanted. Chris put considerable time into understanding the regulatory requirements of our county, and creative and consultative thought into making some of our more obscure choices work (such as installing a 100+ year old window pane from our Sydney house). Perhaps most telling was in the final weeks of the build when there were the inevitable scheduling challenges and I was concerned that I might be irritating one of the key trades: Chris said that he wasn't worried whether that trades person was happy, he was concerned that I was happy. It may seem simple, but I have not always felt so clearly the priority when dealing with trades who sometimes look after each other more than the client. To the question of whether I would recommend Halvorson Mason, I already have: to my sister, from whom I would never hear the end if she wasn't satisfied."

"Hector was prompt, professional, and flexible. We got five estimates and Hector’s was about 1k less than any of the others and included the new sheathing that we needed. He and his crew completed the job in under three days and we barely noticed that they were here, which is really saying something for a complete tear off. They left the worksite spotless and I was very impressed with the quality of their work when I climbed up to inspect the finished roof. All flashing was thoroughly installed. The roof was so bad when we bought the house that row of several shingles was missing. Hector came by a couple weeks before the job and covered the missing section free of charge, just in case it rained. I will he using Isaac roofing for any future roofing projects and would highly recommend this provider."
