Free estimates. Family run business with 15 years of experience in the painting industry. We do exterior, interior, power wash, decks, cabinets, and more.
"I cannot thank Stephen and Marvin enough for their prompt attention to my work request. They were very responsive for making my estimate and changes I requested based on work. I found their attention to detail and upfront pricing to be very refreshing and honest. Further, once we agreed on the deal terms, they were able to schedule the work within a week. Their painting crew was quick, clean and very respectful to my family and I am very happy with their work and would recommend them to others. Word of mouth advertising is more reliable and beneficial to me, and I cannot give them any better of a recommendation than I will be giving their names and contact information to my friends. That means no harsh odors or fumes when you return at the end of the day to your freshly painted home or office!
"We hired Wow 1 Day for 2 separate projects and each one was high quality work with professional service and communications. The first was after we had a flood and needed to get our basement painted after water remediation. The second time we use the company to repaint our entire house. They were great helping with color consultations. We let our kids have some say over there rooms but the company was great in helping with that process. They also helped us be selective about trim and doors that didn't need to repainted to keep us on budget. I would recommend this company without reservation."

Founded in 1998, Manor Works specializes in serving the needs of residential homeowners. Having completed over 10,000 painting projects since our inception, we have built systems and processes to ensure our projects are of consistently high quality, and just as importantly, they run smoothly. Part of this is by not employing day laborers or subcontractors. All of our painters and carpenters are full-time, year round employees. Our stable and highly trained workforce allows us to control quality. This approach, coupled with our unwavering commitment to quality control, enables us to uphold our high standards. Additionally, we offer the longest available warranties, detailed project proposals, and convenient online scheduling systems to further enhance our customer experience. Our dedication to excellence has been recognized through various awards. For inquiries, please contact us at (703) 339-6800 or via email at SusanneT@manorworks.com.
"Bottom Line: This is the second time using Manor Works, although the first time for carpentry. I hired them based primarily on previous excellent work on external painting of home, including complicated faux painting. Unfortunately, for carpentry they suffered from a serious quality control problem, and I would not use them again in this capacity. Communication: Scheduling the initial estimate was easy and timely, while communications continued throughout the process. Scoping Work: This is probably the most important first step in any project and often either messed up or purposely inflated. I needed pre-painted crown molding installed in one room. We requested professional-level carpentry to absolutely minimize any gaps between molding joints, the ceiling, and the walls – essentially a caulkless project. With the various angles in the walls and ceiling, we knew some tricky detailed cuts were going to be required. Quality of work. Frankly, 75-80% of contractors fail here for three primary reasons: a horrible handoff of details from the estimator to the onsite project foreman, project foreman and/or workers making assumptions vice asking the customer, and lack of quality detailed work. All three seemed to have come into play on this project. I knew I had a problem when the contractor asked me for the caulk. Because some boards were cut short and some angles were imprecise, there was a good amount of misalignment between boards and serious gaps between the board and the wall. In the third image, the corner of the board is broken out, and the carpenter wrote on a portion of the finished wall. That wall was painted in a textured, two-tone, faux appearance that takes time and expertise. It's not a simple paint this spot touchup. Due to the dark color of the trim, some of the joint misalignments I could hide with detailed painting and very precise and limited caulking, but the areas where it was chipped out and some of the wall gaps , especially where you can look up and see the nails going through, had to be completely replaced - meaning new crown molding, sanding, priming, painting, cutting, and nailing — both time and money for me. I realize this work can be challenging when the walls are at various angles. It's meticulous and takes a great deal of patience and care. I do my own baseboard, shoe molding, and short runs of crown, so I know it could have been done better than this. A previous contractor recently did it better in our powder and mud room. Pricing: Price was the best of three highly ranked Angie’s List companies, but in this case, you really do get what you pay for. It was very disappointing"

When you paint your deck, you can choose any color, and cleanup is easy, but the paint hides the natural wood grain. Stain, on the other hand, lets the wood grain shine through, but requires more maintenance. The cost to seal a deck is about the same as painting. Consider your personal preferences to see which option benefits you most.
For bare wood or cement decks, you only need to clean the surface before applying the first coat of paint. If you're recoating an existing finish, you'll need to pressure wash the deck to remove chipped paint and debris. Either way, make sure to allow the surface to fully dry before moving forward; otherwise, the finish could peel.
A gallon of paint covers between 125 and 300 square feet, depending on its formula. Since your deck might need two coats of paint, for a standard 300-square-foot deck, you might need two to four gallons. If you're painting a pool deck, keep in mind that the specialized non-slip paint covers less area because the texturized material takes up more space in the can.
The cost to stain a deck ranges from $2 to $4 per square foot, which is similar to the average deck painting cost. For a 300- to 400-square-foot deck, you might pay from $600 to $1,600 for staining. After staining, it’s a good idea to seal the deck; sealing a deck costs $0.50 to $3 per square foot.
Yes, you can paint directly over old deck paint if the existing finish is in excellent condition. You should inspect the surface to ensure there's no cracking, peeling, or chipping before proceeding. If you notice any deterioration, you'll need to remove the compromised paint. Clean your deck thoroughly with a power washer, lightly sand any rough spots, and use the same type of paint to guarantee proper adhesion and long-lasting performance.
Yes, applying a coat of primer before painting your deck is essential unless you're using a combined 2-in-1 formula. Primer enhances the adhesion of the new paint, establishes a moisture barrier, and creates a smooth, uniform surface. Be sure to inspect your deck for any defects or old finishes, and use a high-quality primer to fully prepare the surface for a durable and pristine finish.
