"We interviewed 4 landscapers before settling on Paul Schwarz Nursery. I gave them a B for price because their pricing was right in the middle. Good price, but of course we all want to pay less. They have an A+ for everything else! And I guess they are worth every penny. Mike created a plan for working with our existing landscape to replace our crumbling retaining wall. He coordinated with the county for permits, which ended up being a laborious adventure, as our previous existing deck would not meet the current setback requirements. Mike was extremely creative and came up with an entirely new plan for us and in the end I am so happy that we ran into problems because what we have now is so much better than before. Their company has done a lot of lakeside work and knows more about the codes and requirements than the county probably does. <br /> Mike went out of his way to incorporate small details that will allow us to have flexibility and make changes down the road. For example: the patio that they installed abuts a screened in porch. This current porch is on the rickety side and Mike anticipated that one day we might want to make changes to it. He planned ahead for this by setting the raw edge of the patio stones up against the porch wall so that if we ever make changes to the porch or want to run the stone all the way to the house foundation, we can continue the stone pattern right through. This is not something that I would have thought of. <br /> Originally we had planned for the work to start in the later part of the summer last year, but because of unplanned setbacks by the county, we decided to delay our project until spring. Mike had taken photos of our garden last year and was able to use the photos to find all the perennials and dig them out to save them--they were still dormant when they started work this spring. Mike's appreciation and knowledge of plant/trees was one of the reasons I felt comfortable working with their company. <br /> The crew surprised us with thoughtful details like adding an electrical outlet and lights. The design of our new yard is completely transforming. We are able to use and enjoy every inch our our yard and I am amazed how I find myself pulled into the landscape like never before. I thank Mike for his creativity and attention to small details. <br /> <br /> <br />"

"We asked Bob to build a 24'x14' deck and reuse the original footings of a deck we had torn off the previous year. He did a terrific job of creating a flat deck while managing our sloping yard. He added access stairs on both sides of the deck which makes navigating the yard so much easier. Bob said he was an experienced landscaper so we asked him about trimming our overgrown trees and improving access in the yard with a rock border. He designed it and laid in tons of rock by himself. We ended up with a very low maintenance yard as the rock rings the trees and makes mowing so much easier. We and our neighbors are loving the improvement the deck and rock border have brought to our yard. We will definitely call Bob again!"

"<p>As with the previous poster, the main problem we had with FiveStone was communication. Ryan came out and estimated the job (and was very nice, according to my husband), and we sent a deposit of one-third. We were told they were coming Oct. 1, which was several weeks after the initial estimate. We had to call to find out they wouldn't be coming until Oct. 12 The job took parts of three or four days, but the frustration came in being told they were coming, and then not having them show up or call at all and having to track them down repeatedly over the course the week or so that they were on the job. I'm lucky I was home recovering from surgery, because if I had had to take off work to do this, I would had a tough time of it.</p> <p>The workers worked very hard while they were here, but came without some needed supplies and kept asking to borrow our things to do the work (tarps, cardboard, stepladder, box fan, turkey baster to put water in the crack, broom, vacuum, etc.), which also bothered me. They did go out and get plastic sheeting and rags. While they did tarp off the immediate area they were working on, they didn't cover anything else in the room; as a result, everything was completely covered with epoxy dust. They did ultimately clean a lot of it on the last day, but there's still a lot of cleaning for us to do. </p> <p>I'm frustrated because I found the workers nice and hardworking, as well as the staff in the office and I want to rate them higher. I kept hearing about a car accident or accidents people in their company had had as excuses why they were late or didn't have supplies or hadn't called when they promised they would. I'm truly sorry there were accidents, but I just wanted someone to be honest with me about the schedule and keep me up to date. I hope they can get this communication issue solved.</p> <br />"

"We contacted 4 companies to take care of our 2 car garage roof.   Randy's bid wasn't the lowest, but it was competitive, and they could start immediately.  The bid included new shingles, soffit repair, installation of roof venting, and some minor siding repair. <br /> <br /> Work started on Monday, completed on Wednesday (the soffit and siding work alone took 2 days).  The two men who did the work (Larry & Mark) were professional, put in 8 hours of steady work each day, didn't loaf around, and cleaned up after themselves. <br /> <br /> The quality of work is very good, and the company is giving us a 10 year warranty on the work.  I'm glad we didn't take the cheapest bid (only by $300).  My wife and I are pleased with the results, and will contact them for future projects."

"excellent, when problems arose with the old sink and the weight of the tile on the countertop, they reinforced the cabinet walls for just the cost of materials. Even with the extra repairs they still finished the job ahead of schedule, and on budget. The workers were very friendly and professional, and were quick to answer any questions that I had. I am having them come back in the spring to build a flagstone patio and firepit in my back yard."

FAQs for interlocking pavers for driveways & floors installation projects in Norris City, IL

With proper maintenance, permeable pavement can last for over 20 years. Bi-annual vacuuming prevents clogs from debris and sediment, extends the pavement’s lifespan, and helps you avoid costly driveway repairs. Permeable pavement often has a shorter lifespan in areas with heavy traffic or harsh weather conditions.

Pervious and porous usually refer to pouring asphalt or concrete—which is a single massive object—but with enough small holes to allow for even drainage. This is also sometimes called thirsty concrete. Permeable concrete pavers are precast concrete designed to also allow for drainage. Permeable grass pavers allow grass to grow through them and provide drainage.

Pervious, porous, and permeable pavers are similar because they make it easier for rain or snow to drain or absorb into the ground rather than overload the storm or sewer systems.

The most significant benefit of water-permeable pavement is that it helps precipitation absorb better (and slower) into the ground, which avoids overloading sewers and causing overflows and backups. It also helps recharge the groundwater and prevent agricultural runoff from lawns.

If you’ve ever seen water rushing into a storm drain, permeable pavement prevents that. Instead of water running off a steep driveway, a good amount of it “soaks” directly underneath the pavement.

Topmix permeable concrete costs $8 to $16 per square foot, including all installation costs. However, they give out estimates on a project-by-project basis. However, Tarmac, the company that made the product, no longer produces Topmix.

Ecoraster is a brand that offers many different permeable paving options in North America. Prices vary depending on the product and project. They’ll give estimates for each individual project. While not actual pavers, these grids serve a similar function. Ecoraster grids come in various styles and allow for similar drainage compared to permeable pavers or porous paving.

Permeable driveways may cost slightly more than a traditional paving type, but they reduce or eliminate the need to install any other type of drainage system. Drainage systems cost $2,000 to $6,500 to install. They also reduce stormwater runoff, sewer overflows, and help eliminate urban agriculture runoff, which can pollute waterways.
