"We have had many things done by A-State Handymen. Some of the most recent are a complete bathroom remodel, tile installation in multiple rooms, siding and drywall for a room addition, deck addition, baseboards throughout entire house. ALL of the projects they have done have been completed either on time or early and were always very reasonably priced. We have met many of the employees and they have always been super friendly and accommodating around our schedules. We will continue to use them for any future home improvement needs."

"Speedy service as far as when we call. Turn around time is within two weeks. They come out when they say they are going to come out. I like that they can give me a price before the project. It is consistent towards the end of the project. There are no surprises. Adam has done work for us for about six years."

"They are very good. There were some issues but it wasn't his fault because it is an old house. He had to come back and repair some stuff that his apprentice did. We have a 100 year old house and I had been electrocuted in the 1990's. He is very good and very competent. His apprentice needed some help so he did have to come back. They paid for what the apprentice did wrong because it was their mistake. He is learning so he is better now. They had to drill through plaster walls and lathe. He said it was one of the most difficult houses he has ever had to wire because the house has been added to and a friend did wiring years ago and he started drinking. He is anal attentive and he drove me crazy. He was here forever. He talked to himself the whole time he was working. It was expensive but it was adequately priced. They did a ton of work. He burned up 3 drills trying to get through the plaster. The quality was great. They were responsive and corrected things that the apprentice did. He was here for two days fixing things. They were extremely punctual and here every morning at 7:30. They were very professional."

FAQs for remodel to accommodate a disability projects in North Little Rock, AR

Standard Medicare coverage often doesn't extend to home modifications, such as roll-in showers. In specific circumstances where medical necessity is clearly established, limited coverage might be available through certain Medicare programs. Many homeowners explore alternative funding sources such as home modification grants, veterans' benefits, or specialized financing programs designed for accessibility improvements. Consulting with a Medicare representative about your specific situation provides the most accurate guidance.

Roll-in showers deliver significant benefits beyond their monetary return, particularly in terms of safety, independence, and long-term accessibility. By eliminating barriers to bathing, these installations help prevent falls while accommodating mobility devices, such as wheelchairs or walkers. Their open design creates a contemporary appearance that appeals to many homebuyers. For households planning to age in place or accommodate family members with mobility challenges, the functional advantages often outweigh pure financial considerations.

A standard roll-in shower installation takes two to four days. Projects requiring extensive renovation or plumbing changes may take longer, potentially extending to several weeks or months. Factors affecting the timeline include existing bathroom configuration, permit processing times, contractor availability, and material delivery schedules. Creating proper drainage slopes often requires additional preparation time compared to traditional shower installations, particularly when modifying existing floor structures.
