"No more leaks. Did the job by taking off roofing and paper, and replacing plywood underneath as well as new paper and roofing. Would have been nice to have a better color match, but not a huge issue. Good work and prompt, but for 4 hours work it seemed very expensive."

"Excellent !!! I highly recommend this contractor. The finished product was even better than I had imagined. On-Site Builders handled all of the necessary drawings, permits, & inspections. I met with Gary once or twice and he sketched the roof based on my description. I never had to get involved again after those meetings. He employed 4 subcontractors for the framing, shingled roof, vinyl covering, & fan installation. All performed exceptionally. It was as though they read my mind. I actually enjoyed watching his crew and the subcontractors perform their crafts. They were like well oiled machines. By watching every step of the process, I could see how well built it is. Very strong. A few flaws needed to be revisited in the vinyl work but they were corrected the next day. The area was kept clean throughout the process as they swept up every day. What could have been a nightmare turned out to be a pleasure."

"September 2013 I called the Jeff Linta Construction & Roofing Company and was pleasantly greeted on the telephone by Cindy.  She was  very professional and prompt in returning my call or following up on any concerns I had. I scheduled an appointment with Jeff and he promptly showed up at my house when he said.  I requested an estimate to completely replace the roof and gutters on my beach house.  The quote was very fair and I contracted with Jeff Linta to replace my roof.  The Jeff Linta crew arrived promptly on the day we scheduled and within 2 days completely replaced the roof and gutters as contracted.  The crew was very diligent and professional in their work.  They cleaned up every day after working. The gutter guy was also fantastic and professional.  I would only hope that all construction companies in Myrtle Beach could be as diligent and professional as the Jeff Linta Construction & Roofing Company! <br /> <br />Thank You Jeff Linta! <br />"

"THEY WERE GREAT! I HAD CALLED ANOTHER COMPANY WHO DECIDED TO DO THE HIGH PRESSURE STUFF AND REFUSED TO GIVE ME AN ESTIMATE UNLESS I BOUGHT TODAY. <br /> DAN FROM GUTTER PROS CAME OUT MEASURED IT UP AND LET ME KNOW I COULD TAKE AS LONG AS I NEEDED TO MAKE A DECISION. THEIR PRODUCT WAS GREAT TOO. I EXPLAINED I WANTED TO CHECK THEM OUT AND READ REVIEWS ON THEM AND THE PRODUCT. SO I TOOK A FEW DAYS AND GOT BACK TO THEM.  <br /> LOVED THE INSTALLER, WILL, ALSO. <br /> I HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ANYONE LOOKING FOR A GREAT PRODUCT AT A GREAT PRICE. <br /> WE HAVE HAD PINE NEEDLES CLOGGING THE GUTTERS FOR YEARS, I WAS JUST FED UP. <br /> SO, I AM EXCITED TO HAVE THIS DONE. <br /> THE OTHER COMPANY THAT WAS OUT WAS LEAF FILTER OR GUTTER HELMET, I DONT REMEMBER. THE GUY WAS NICE ENOUGH BUT WAS GETTING MAD WHEN I TOLD HIM THAT I NEEDED TO DO RESEARCH. <br /> SAVE YOURSELF SOME TIME AND CALL THESE GUYS. <br />"

"I wanted to give a great review. The estimate went well and the pricing seemed fair. The owner indicated he had professionals in each renovation discipline (flooring, cabinets, plumbing, electrical, etc.). I needed LVP installed over concrete, a kitchen cabinet install completion (I tried, I failed), and a minor electrical issue addressed. The workers were nice and prompt. The same guy did floors and cabinets and attempted to fix the electrical issue. There weren't different guys for each element of the job as claimed. The cabinets and microwave install went very well. The electrical issue wasn't resolved. I was charged for a breaker and some labor. Turns out the load and lead on the GFCI just needed to be switched. It took an electrician I hired literally 45 seconds to fix it. Now, onto the flooring. THIS is where it really came off the rails. NO real surface prep was done. There are MAJOR flaws under the plank (serious bumps as though there are screw heads or chunks of concrete under which are popping up). Seams aren't tight. There is a random screw (just one) that looks like it was put in by the workers for who knows what reason. Just a general lack of quality workmanship. They have the potential to be a fine company but they need to treat EVERY single job as though their reputation depended on it (because it DOES). And don't claim to have expert workers in each discipline when it's really just one handyman. I just can't recommend them..."

"I called Mr. Lettrick on Wed evening and he gave a price for my townhouse roof, sight unseen based on my description, which was considerably less than bids previously received from other contractors. His bid included all necessary replacement wood (other bids had a per sheet add on after 1 or 2), tear off and hauling debris and clean up, lifetime shingles, and hurricane nailing. I asked how he could give a price without seeing the job, and he said 46 years of roofing experience assuming my estimates of the size were accurate. He checked the delivery of materials on FRI morning and due to weather forecast and distance from MB and a schedule change , he and his crew started and finished at 8pm by flashlight. He also fixed a wooden gate that was poorly installed by another contractor. If Mr Lettrick says he?ll do something for a price, you can be assured it will be done without a lot of contract legalese.  It was a pleasure doing business with him. In my opinion, if you do not let him quote your roofing job, you will be doing yourself a disservice. <br />"

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in North Myrtle Beach, SC

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
