"We hired ASAP Hardwood Floors to refinish 70-year-old floors on the first floor of our home and to install new hardwood flooring on the second floor of our house, including the stairs leading to it. They did a fantastic job. Four areas are worth mentioning: craftsmanship, customer service, product quality, and integrity. Craftsmanship: the integration of the old and the new hardwood floors is seamless. The color, wood grain, and finish are identical. The ASAP team brought to the raw hardwood materials to the house to acclimate three days before installation, protecting us from issues (expansion, distortion, etc.) following the install. Customer Service: Jose added a lot of value in color selection by guiding us to select a stain for the floors that matched the existing woodwork (doors, trim, window shutters), a detail we would have missed. Also, following the installation, we found a sharp spot on the new flooring that he repaired without question or delay. Product Quality: the quality of the hardwood flooring was excellent. We chose unfinished two 1/4 inch, solid new red oak. We've not found any planks with visible defects. Integrity: As we had not fully moved into the house at the time of the installation, Jose and his team had access to the house when we were not there. They took care in their work to protect the property (draping off rooms, covering furniture, etc.), sent us near daily photos to illustrate progress, and ensured the house was locked, etc. as they left each day. They are completely trustworthy. We would hire ASAP Hardwood Floors immediately if we had another project and recommend them highly to others."

"I own residential property in Chicago which is over 100 years old and once had beautiful hardwood floors throughout. However, by the late 2010s, the floors were sadly past their prime and those glory days were but a distant memory. Over a century of neglect, changing tastes, and numerous remodels, past owners took the easy way out by replacing missing sections of flooring with plywood, ignoring basic upkeep, and simply covering up the damage (aka their crimes) with wall-to-wall carpet. Blasphemy I say! This trend shall have no place in a city where Mike and his team from Mike's Hardwood Flooring heroically fight back restoring one hardwood floor at a time! Every week, they courageously repair the damage caused by the cheap landlords and cut-rate contractors from Chicago's dark past! Lol...in all seriousness, I've used Mike several times now to refinish my existing hardwood floors as well as repair hardwood flooring that was damaged decades ago and hidden by carpet. I'm anti-carpet / pro-hardwood floor :) Over the past few years, Mike has restored all of the hardwood flooring in my own home as well as in several of my rental units to their former glory! As for Mike himself...he's responsive, knowledgeable, forthright, kind, and down-to-earth. Despite my eagerness to restore as much of the original wood as possible, Mike will actually take the time to discuss options and do a cost-benefit analysis (including the extent/history of damage, type of wood, the science, and labor involved, etc.). Although much of my original flooring remains, it could not always be done economically. Mike doesn't try to upsell you and rightfully steered me towards a less expensive option (of new hardwood) for a better result two weeks before posting this review. Which I very much appreciated! And the same can be said of his team as well, including George and Francisco, who go to great lengths to ensure that the floor you want is the floor you get (i.e. making sure you know what you can and can't do during the first few days after they finish). Included below are several before and after pictures and the results speak for themselves! I was particularly impressed how Mike and his team were able to beautifully restore the original wood on a set of stairs that were covered in a layer of tar (no idea why) and carpeted over. "Excellent Floor Installation & Staining Marcel and his Team did an excellent job installing and staining my floors! I recently purchased a condo and the floors were very creaky and not the color I wanted. After contacting Marcel, he quickly came to my place to give a quote. Marcel and team quickly got to work and provided me with regular and clear updates. My floors were fully replaced and stained within a week. The Team had to put in extra work as there were electrical conduits under most of my floors The floors now do not squeak at all and the stain looks great! "They did an excellent job. Daniel showed us some samples of water based floor finishing as opposed to oil based. He described the process and suggested how long it would take and the precautions to give the best end results. The men who sanded, vaeuumed, and applied the finish were professional and did great work each day. The removal and replacement of furniture went very well too. Nothing was broken or scratched. I liked that Daniel phoned today and checked that we had placed pads on chair legs/feet so we wouldn’t scratch the floors like before. I love our floors. They feel brand new!"

"We hired FloorMaxx to install hardwood in a townhouse we just bought. Greg was very informative and transparent at the free estimate appointment and that’s what made us choose them. They weren’t the cheapest bid but we knew we would get more value from them. We went to their supplier’s showroom and picked our wood. "We had Chris, Tom and the team refinish all of our hardwood floors. The team did an amazing - in a time when it can be difficult to communicate with contractors or get a call back - I was thoroughly impressed with the level of communication throughout the entire process and updates on how things were coming along. They made every effort to make the process go as quickly and smoothly as possible. We completely changed the color of our floors and it looks as though they were always this color!! The harshest of critics has yet to find something they missed.
