"Luis was professional, prompt, and constantly kept me in the loop about the status of the project, timelines etc. His crew was also professional and did a great job. I hired LM Coatings to paint the doors and trim in my house and to build walls/ceiling and hang drywall in my basement (along with lighting and electrical work). The paint looks beautiful, no drips or runs, and they even tackled difficult areas like around the stairs. The basement looks great and they really did a nice job with finishing the drywall because the walls primed and painted perfectly. I will definitely hire again."

"We asked Tom to help us with power washing and staining our deck. He did an outstanding job, was very professional and responsive. He not only did a great job with sealing our deck but also provided valuable suggestions on other maintenance work in our house. Tom was able to give us quick and transparent estimates. His professionalism, reliability, and exceptional work ethic make him our go-to handyman. We are already planning future projects with him and can highly recommend him."

"Harrison (owner) is an open, honest, and hard working fellow who is intent on delivering the highest quality product. He had several difficult areas to paint and he was able to deliver a quality job in every situation. I had never had a professional painter before and was concerned about cleanliness as well as quality. This fellow delivered over and above on both counts. I was especially pleased with the way he took the time to make the necessary cosmetic adjustments to the ceiling and floor trim to ensure they provided the "pop" that his excellent paint job deserved. I took his advice when deciding on color and couldn't be happier. He never treated me with anything but respect and was never condescending - something, as a Senior, I've seen too much of. He delivered over and above what he promised and I would use him again and highly recommend him."

"Angel is an extremely dedicated and hard worker that pays special attention to detail to get the project done correctly to meet customers expectations. It is amazing how quickly he gets tasks done and correct the first time. Angel installed drywall, porcelain tile and finish trim in my basement and it looks amazing. I would recommend Angel with no hesitation to work on any of my future projects."

FAQs for small projects painting or staining projects in Oak Ridge, TN

You'll need about two gallons of paint to fully cover your kitchen cabinets with two coats. Since each gallon covers around 350 square feet, it's a good idea to measure your cabinets or use a paint calculator to determine exactly how much you'll need. Starting with one or two coats of primer and then applying two to three layers of paint will give you a flawless, durable finish. Using high-quality paint can reduce the number of coats needed and provide a long-lasting finish.

The best type of paint for your kitchen cabinets is latex paint because it applies evenly and creates a durable finish. If you're painting wood surfaces and need extra adhesion, acrylic paint is a great alternative. We don't recommend oil-based paint for residential use due to its VOC emissions. For finishes, go with eggshell, semi-gloss, gloss, or satin, as matte finishes aren't as durable or as easy to clean.

The best method for painting kitchen cabinets is spray painting because it gives you a smooth, even finish without brush strokes. While brushes and rollers can work, they often leave marks and require more effort. If you're aiming for a professional look, spray painting is your best bet to enhance the beauty and durability of your cabinets.
