"I cannot say enough about the work Brandon did. Our house had a dryer unit that died. It was inconveniently located at the bottom of our basement stairs, in front of our heater, and vented out into the garage. In addition you needed to jump the dryer electrical cord and squeeze in between the heater/utility sink to access the washer. A1 was able to re-locate all three items to the opposite wall setting up the necessary piping to do so. A new basement window was also ordered and installed. This was done quickly and efficiently. It is so much more convenient and functional. I will be using them in the future for other projects and highly recommend them."

"Excellently! Todd, who just left, was fantastic to work with. Explained everything clearly. Had been waiting two days to hear back from another plumber. Gave up waiting and went to Angie's List, and saw the great (and well-deserved) reviews for Russo Plumbing. Spoke to Scott, who was incredibly helpful. He was able to send Todd over within the hour. Price was very reasonable. Everything went perfectly, and won't hesitate to use again. Highly recommended!"

"October 2013 was the second time I had Dan from American Drain Cleaning & Plumbing do work at my house.  The first job a couple years ago was to replace the shutoff valve on the line to the outside hose bibb.  The second time (October 2013) was for the 3 jobs listed above.  Both times the work was done professionally and in a timely manner.  Both valve replacements were done with higher quality parts than the builder had used.  After the initial installation, the shower needed adjusting to run hotter and getting that done took a single phone call, and it was done the next day.  So I would say American Drain is responsive to calls after the primary job is done.  The cost for the 3 jobs in October 2013 included the hardware & labor. Based on experiences I have had with other plumbing companies in the area, American Drain Cleaning & Plumbing is more reasonable.  I would recommend them and plan to use them in the future.

"Great Company! Had several other quotes but BathMax provided the best quote. Everyone that I dealt with was very professional. The finished job looks terrific. There's a reason why they have stellar reviews and no BBB complaints! If you are considering redoing your bathroom or have a tub/shower remodel, do yourself a favor and contact them for a quote. More than likely, you'll find yourself amazed at the experience and be writing a review on them like me."

"When I contacted the company through Angie's list because of their $49 off promotion. The reply came in the following week (I contacted them on a Friday and there was an email in my Angie's list box by Monday or Tuesday). It was a bit of a challenge to get initial phone contact as I played phone tag with their admin for about a week. Also, I did not realize I had to check my Angie's List inbox so there was an initial delay that was my fault. Still, from the time I made initial contact to the time the work was done was about three weeks, which would be problematic if my leak was more serious but, in my case, was not a huge setback. Though I had agreed with the admin that the service would occur on the 28th, I received a call two days early from the plumber himself (Tyrone) who happened to be in the area and wondered if he could come to do the job. This was fine, since it was around 9 AM and I didn't need to leave the house until 1230. However, after his initial assessment, he realized he did not have all the right parts and needed to go tot he hardware store. He managed to get the job completed at around 12:25. Close call due to loose scheduling. Otherwise, the job was completed very professionally. Tyrone took special care to put on cloth foot protectors to keep from bringing dirt into the house. He was very pleasant and easy to work with and I enjoyed meeting him. The person setting the schedule was not unkind to me, but she was not nearly as pleasant as the plumber and, I suspect the schedule issues were related to her. Overall, I was satisfied with the work. The ratings reflect the combination of my experiences with the plumber and the administrative person who did the scheduling. If it were just based on the plumbing all the ratings would be higher - particularly the responsiveness rating.

"They did a fine job, but they did have some communication issues. They did not always let us know when they were coming. They did not complete the job quickly, either, as the project stretched out longer than expected. They were very friendly and accomidating, however. I would consider calling them for future work."

"I was extremely pleased with all the jobs they performed. The handyman were on time and completed each job expertly. I had my kitchen ceiling replaced, install a ceiling fan and replaced the steps in the backyard. I would use them for future projects. Tracey was a pleasure to work with. I can't wait until my next project."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Oaks, PA

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
