"Mr. Barrett was sensational. My home is 35 years old, and the faucet handle was so badly corroded that it was difficult even to turn off the water. In spite of the corrosion and difficulty in removing the old fixture and installing the new one, Mr. Barrett never lost his patience and continued to work on the fixture at a time when most plumbers probably would have given up and tried to sell me lots of expensive new piping. I used Handyman Barrett for the first time just one week ago for an entirely different project, and I will certainly call him again for any home projects."

A clean carpet can brighten up any room and make every room feel clean and comfortable.
"We hired Mr. Cleanz to perform home repairs. We paid money as they presented themselves well in person and we decided we wanted to hire them. After we paid them, they changed, and they did not complete the work they were hired to do. They became difficult to reach as other reviews also show. They completed some items incorrectly and tried to charge me the difference to correct it. They also told us they were going to charge more overhead and profit out of our check than they said they would. At that point they went back on their word and there was nothing we could do about it because we had given them some money. We filed with the BBB and Mr. Cleanz responded with false information and verbally told the BBB representative we had a court case so the BBB would take down the complaint for public viewing. Another tactic gaming the system. We then provided documentation and evidence they were not being honest and transparent. Hopefully the full 9 page detailed review is still available for viewing as it keeps getting taken down when Mr. Cleanz calls and only verbally says there is a case open on this, when at the time of this writing and Mr. Cleanz verbal statement to the BBB, there was no case. It is a tactic working for them with the BBB. Mr. Cleanz also said they were charging us $150/hr for things we didn’t ask them to do. The things we did ask them to do, like change something in the estimate, they would charge us $150/hr to do that too. Several times they would have to re-write the estimate because they made the mistake on it, and then when they corrected it, they would charge us for them fixing their own mistake, saying it was administrative time. It had nothing to do with us. Mr. Cleanz was authorized to perform what they assured was a 3-week project for the kitchen in July. They installed the flooring incorrectly, we later found out they did not install any insulation in the walls as they were supposed to, demanded more money than they originally quoted on the estimate for work and they held the project hostage saying they would not complete unless we paid them more. There was no recourse and we suffered a tremendous financial amount. After payment, they were not business manner in returning calls as I would have to ask several times before they responded once they had money in their possession. For the 3-week project which started on 07/23/20, we finally had to hire a different contractor 01/2021 (5 months later to finish the project). We were able to use the same vendors we discovered Mr. Cleanz was using and had them provide materials and install for less than what Mr. Cleanz was charging us. Mr. Cleanz never finished the job and left undone: Insulation, countertops, kitchen sink, faucet, baseboards, casing and paint. Our flooring was installed improperly and incomplete. The more I write and report on my experience, the more I see some of these things have happened to other people. I wish I had done a more thorough review before I hired them and I hope this review helps you with knowing another terrible experience they have given to a customer. Due to them putting up drywall without putting in the insulation which was included in the estimate, we have the cost now of correcting that issue by removing drywall, detach and resetting the countertop, cabinets, and completing ourselves the base boards, casings, installing insulation, drywall and paint. I am not one of those people who write hardly any reviews at all, but this one deserves to let other people know who you are dealing with."

Both materials work well, so start by thinking about foot traffic and budget. Porcelain is denser and absorbs less water, so it’s ideal for busy entries, kitchens, and baths—even if it costs a little more.
Ceramic is lighter, easier to cut, and comes in a wider range of styles, making it a solid pick for walls or light-use floors. Match the tile’s durability rating to the space, and you’ll get the best balance of looks, performance, and price.
A solid subfloor starts with a flat, crack-free surface. Your installer will level any low spots, reinforce weak areas, and screw down fiber-cement backer board or quality plywood before setting tile.
Skipping this step invites movement, cracked grout, and even water damage—issues that are far pricier than prep work. Hire a pro to get the base right, and your new tile will look sharp and stay put for years.
Give the thin-set 24 to 48 hours to cure before you start grouting. Rushing the process can nudge tiles out of place, weaken the bond, and create cracks you’ll have to fix later. Keep foot traffic off the area until you’re ready to grout, and you’ll lock in a strong, even finish that lasts.
Tile size changes the workload. Large-format pieces mean fewer grout lines and faster coverage, but they’re heavier and need careful handling to avoid breakage and lippage. Small mosaics create intricate looks yet take more time to set and space correctly, so labor costs climb. Weigh your style goals against the extra effort (and budget) each option requires before you decide.
You can leave tiles ungrouted for a short window, but only if the surface stays clean and undisturbed. Once the thin-set cures, finish the job as soon as possible. Grout seals joints against moisture and locks the layout in place; waiting too long invites dirt, water, and movement that can shorten the life of your new surface.
Use at least two millimeter spacers on walls and three millimeter spacers on floors to give grout room to bond and absorb normal expansion. Larger, rustic tiles may call for wider joints, while precision-cut porcelain often looks best with tighter gaps. Follow the manufacturer’s guidelines and local code, and you’ll end up with an even, long-lasting layout.
