"Matthew was very quick to get back to me and get the job done right. I had a leaking toilet that was not seated correctly so it ruined the floor beneath. I had this issue fixed 3 times before. Matthew came out and replaced the flooring underneath it and now it sits correctly on the floor and no longer leaks. I would definitely have them come back if I had any other plumbing problems"

"This is the only plumbing company I will call when we have an issue! Over the weekend, our well pump stopped operating, and our home was without water. Another company gave us an astronomical estimate for replacing the pump and pressure tank. Within hours, Jack had us on his schedule, and the next day, his crew had everything replaced and operational for a fraction of the cost. Everyone was friendly, helpful, competent, and extremely efficient. Hire this company without a second thought! They will exceed your expectations. Thank you, Crawley Plumbing!"

"How did it go?? I’ll tell you. You ever hire a contractor that never shows up on time or not ever?? Eric showed up 15 minutes ahead of time. Walked in went right to problem furnace and up the ladder with proper tools and replacement parts. Not a minute was wasted. Installed parts tested for gas leaks and then furnace flame adjusted everything completed job, cleaned up everything. So clean you would never know a contractor was on the job. He is absolutely the best!!"

"Beautifully done. This job required complete reno of 1972 bathroom down to the studs. New ceiling, walls, and flooring, fanlight with duct work to roof, sealing existing leaks on roof, upgrading electrical, replacing and repositioning plumbing as needed, installing tub/shower, vanity and top, medicine cabinet, lights, door, trim, and all hardware. Dave replaced the existing window with a larger one, and new trim inside and out. And he did this all himself. I can't say enough good things. I think his pricing is fair, his quotes and his work are meticulous. He's also such a nice guy to work with and talk to. He worked on consecutive days, and cleaned up afterwards."

"I cannot speak highly enough about this company. As a single mother, and sorely underpaid social worker, cost effectiveness and quality services are critical to me. Riley Plumbing and Heating has been there for me, and for my parents before me, without exception. Mr. Riley has sent workers out to repair my furnace in the middle of the night on a weekend in January, just to be sure that my son and I did not suffer unnecessarily. He has always been reasonable in his pricing, and accurate in his estimates. In addition to these qualities, Mr. Riley and his employees are always polite and respectful in their interactions with me. This company is - in my estimation - a perfect example of what every company should strive to be: honest, fair, reasonably priced, and willing to stand behind their work. I would highly recommend this company to anyone requiring the services that they offer, and have recommended them to many people already. <br />"

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Old Mystic, CT

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
