David and Jose were always available for any questions and kept us up to date while our Nicolock paver product was on order. The patio they built is beautiful and was was completed in 1.5 days. The team did a great job leveling out the space and making sure the foundation of the patio was well done before laying the pavers. "I began working with XtraCare through the RiverSmart homes program, when I contacted them for a quote to refinish my NE DC rowhouse backyard with permeable pavers and replace an unstable retaining wall. Due to the cost of such a project, I did not hire XtraCare at the time. As a number of other reviewers mention, stonework is expensive, but you understand why when you see how hard the crews work and the scale and weight of the materials involved. After talking with a few other contractors to decide on a less expensive project scope (gravel instead of permeable pavers), I contracted XtraCare for an estimate - and to my surprise, they gave me the best price and a great design. XtraCare did an excellent job with the project - they used high quality materials, and the crew worked hard and had a good attention to detail throughout. They even got the job done despite COVID shutting down the regional economy towards the end of the project. I also appreciated how communicative and responsive XtraCare was throughout the process. We did have one hiccup when they switched my project manager and an important detail was missed, but they corrected the problem promptly and switched me back to my original manager (Cleber, who I recommend highly). I definitely recommend XtraCare."

"We contracted with Ms. Lily and the MA Landscaping team to redo our back patio on Capitol Hill in DC. The original patio had a dilapidated fence, an uneven brick floor, and overgrown shed. The moment that Ms. Lily stepped into the space, she had a vision for safeguarding the historic nature of the patio while integrating a modern look. She was receptive to our ideas and offered her own, which allowed us to come to a great combined vision. She didn't try to oversell us or pressure us into taking dramatic, expensive changes that weren't important to us. Throughout the project, Ms. Lily was hands-on, responsive, and receptive. The work was completed in 2 weeks. Her workers were friendly and when unexpected developments arose, they quickly sought our input as well as hers. Ms. Lily visited the property each day to inspect the progress. The final result was a patio that exceeded our expectations! We were thrilled by not only the end result, but also the journey to it. "They were amazing. I mean it really looks good. I think that if I paid less, it might not have looked quite as good. They were really professionals that knew what they were doing. The way they did the retaining wall just looks really really nice. I would give them higher than an A in some way. They were so nice. There were so many of them, and they worked so fast. They were experts. The salesman was also excellent because he took into part what I was trying to convey, and he designed it. He kept showing me, and we kept sort of tweaking it. You want that. They were punctual. They were scheduled for a week or so later, and I called and asked if they could come earlier because they had an opening in their schedule. They like to keep their crews working constantly, and I had really wanted it done as soon as possible. So I agreed. They came and they were right on time. They worked very hard. They always cleaned up after themselves. I mean so many leave a mess or leave a part of it undone. Plus, it just exceeded my expectations of how it looked in the end."

"ATD did a wonderful job of completely redoing our front yard. The yard is shaded by trees, grass would not grow, and invasive plants had taken over. ATD first met with us to understand what we wanted, and provided a concise but complete proposal. They developed a landscape design which they discussed with us as it evolved. For the installation they first removed the existing plants, grass and weeds and applied an organic weed killer to kill the invasive plants. They installed the new landscaping a few weeks later, and completed it in one day. They applied soil and hardwood mulch, planted a variety of native plants, and installed stone pavers to provide a walkway from our driveway to the house. In addition they installed a dry creek and river rocks to control water runoff. Maintenance, included for next year, includes Spring and Fall cleanups and weeding every 4-6 weeks during the growth season. We are thrilled with the yard, and neighbors have already given complements. The price was good - we did get a quote from another landscaper, and it was significantly higher. We plan to have ATD work on our back yard next Spring."

"Lazaro and his crew members, Fidel, William, and Issac, transformed our back yard from being a dirty and unpleasant hellscape where my wife and I never spent any time to being a beautiful and clean space where we can host parties, cookouts, and relax. The crew was extremely professional, organized, thoughtful, experienced, efficient, and communicative throughout the course of the project. I was quite impressed with their design and planning skills, extensive experience, and passion for their work. My wife and I own a small row house with a small back yard, which presented unique challenges to the crew: no back yard access except through neighbors’ properties. The crew handled this challenge well by being communicative and friendly with my neighbors and always cleaning up the space at the end of each working day. They always ensured that the fencing and hardscaping looked good from both sides of the property line, so that my neighbors were also happy! Another challenge was that an adjacent property is about 3 feet above grade and not pleasant to look at from our yard. Lazaro’s planning and vision for a beige brick half-wall, topped with wooden lattice flower boxes was a great finishing touch that provided a beautiful transition between the red brick paver patio and the elevated wooden fence to block the view of the adjacent property. The crew carefully planned their work from the beginning, so that there were no surprises at the end as the finishing touches were put on and the fence was erected. My wife and I are also confident that the money we spent on this work will be a great investment—not only for enjoying our new home, but also in the resale value some day in the future. "We are so happy with our newly expanded patio. Best Landscaping did a phenomenal job with the design, planning, and installation of our patio, as well as a drainage system to stop flooding in our backyard. The contractors always showed up on time, and left the job site clean at the end of the day. From the start of the project, everything went very smoothly. I was given a very competitive estimate, and the company was always quick to respond when I had questions or concerns. The owner, Abel, was wonderful. He called and checked in often with the builders, and made sure things were going smoothly. When it turned out that we were going to have to make some additional changes, the change in pricing was very fair. When some materials were unavailable due to Covid, Abel worked hard to make sure we were happy with the substitutions. Since the french drain installation, we have had no problems with runoff and flooding. Can't say enough positive things about Best Lansdcaping - 5 star high quality construction and 5 star communication and customer service!"

"Removed old concrete patio: This was an old 1963-era concrete slab. Massive. Mike & his team brought in jackhammers and made quick work of it. Waterproofing: Removing the old slab revealed a damaged (and possibly leaking) portion of the house wall, which Mike's team repaired well. Replaced with new patio: Mike's team poured a new cement layer, then installed a new flagstone patio surface on top of that. Also a new step (concrete with flagstone exterior) at the door threshold. They also re-installed an iron railing which had been part of the original patio configuration. The job went well in all respects. We're happy with the team's work and with the new patio. I've worked with Mike and Diversified Contractors several times now. Each time, Mike has had good ideas & suggestions. Each time, his team has demonstrated excellent skills. Again, I'm looking forward to our next project."
