"The need for a footing drain was a surprise to me during my basement remodel due to water leaking in through the blocks. Raman and his team got me on the schedule fairly quickly, did a great job. They also set up new plumbing for 2 bathrooms and a kitchen in the basement, and removed my old water heater and installed a tankless water heater. Any issues that came up, they were very quick to resolve (including an old copper pipe that they didn't install which welding came loose, and they were there same day to fix.) great honest service, reliable service. Pricing, well, plumbing is not cheap, but I think they are comparable to anyone in the business. I would definitely use them again. Thanks Drain Pro!"

Customers say: Super punctual

"These guys were amazing! We had the plastic water intake valve behind the toilet burst and spray water everywhere at 4am. after cleaning up the mess we called Cahill's at about 6:45am and they arrived by 8:30am to fix the valve, which took them like 15 minutes. I asked them about doing all of the valves in the house (16 total) and they agreed to come back at noon to do all of them. At exactly noon they were back at my house and had all the valves changed out in less than 2 hours. They were friendly, clean, polite, and provided excellent customer service. Jason and Harry were the team that came to my house and I would highly recommend them. And thanks to Russell, the owner, for giving us a great deal on the work his team did. We will be calling on Cahill's for any future plumbing needs."

Small jobs welcome

"I was going to try to do this myself but there were too many challenges. Scott had no problem figuring out what needed to be done and knew how to do it. He was professional and courteous and I am glad he was the one I called. I highly recommend Sprague plumbing."

"Fantastic. The majority of work was done in 3 days. Unbelievable!!! The plumbing under the house was a really tight squeeze and it was done to perfection. He had to come back twice for the dishwasher because the door wouldn't close. It turned out to be a manufacturer's defect and had nothing to do with him. Great customer service.
When I bought the house, a plumbing nightmare was discovered. Mismatched pipes under the house  with a heat lamp (surprise!) Of course there was no indication of possible plumbing problems from the prior owner. If we hadn't inspected under the house, we would have had a nightmare in the winter. The shower plumbing sprayed water out the backside into a closet. The washer hook up did not have appropriate venting and the dryer vent went into the floor and under the house through nothing but a tinfoil dryer vent. The barn pipes leaked and one had burst during the period of time the house was empty.
I had 3 bids on this job. One was $10,000 with caveats about possible extra charges. One was $6500 with caveats about extra charges. JM Plumbing said both those bids were too high and he would be more than happy to do it for $6200.
Great job, great work, great customer service. I have recommended him to the Culligan Man as a top-notch example of what to expect from a plumber.

"They are utterly fantastic. There's no other way to say it. Great service all around. Plumbing costs. And when you see the amount of work they have to do, you see where the money goes. It's worth it to have serious professionals who are actually friendly. I got the sense they cared about their efforts and ensuring they left a satisfied customer behind. I was so happy with the work, I brought them back out a couple days later for a new faucet."

"Randomly our hot water tank pipes and other pipes in the house burst! My husband and I didn’t know what to do. Once we got a water mitigation company handling the water damage we needed a plumber and contractor. We called I’d say 5-7 plumber/contractors with crazy high prices! Thank God for Collett Construction! Cameron Collett himself came out and told my husband in detail everything that was wrong and found we have quest pipes (which are horrible) so, he gave us the removal of the hot water tank, a new tank, and install of the new tank for free and all we had to pay was for pipes in the whole house (only because we wanted to get rid of quest!) Home insurance doesn’t cover the tank or pipes! Also, his work came with a 10 year hassle free warranty as well, if anything goes wrong they’ll come fix it! They also have financing options for people who can’t pay all at once. They had my whole house re-piped in a day and a half! EVERY SINGLE PIPE IN THE WHOLE HOUSE!! The tech who came out for that portion was respectful, courteous, and did amazing work! Once the water mitigation company is done and everything is gutted Cameron will come out and work with us on what we want to do for put back and he’s made sure it’s covered by insurance every step of the way!! We even want to make some changes on the layout of our master bedroom and bathroom and he’s all for it!! If for any reason some things aren’t covered I know he’ll work with us! He cares about the people he does business for and he cares about the quality of his work! Collett Construction is the best for any job!!! We couldn’t have been more blessed!! Thank you Collett Construction!!!! I’ll add before and after pics once it’s complete!"

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Olympia, WA

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
