"We started with just a concept of what we wanted to do.  On the first day, I told Chuck I needed to get the inside of the closet painted before we started.  He said "no you aren'tt", we're going to do the entire interior in closet grade cedar.  What a great idea and it wasn't that expensive and he did the work instead of me doing the painting.  We then began to plan the french doors, which was the centerpiece of this side by side design.  You can't buy what wanted (solid oak six panel french doors), so Chuck figured out how to build them and they are beautiful.  Doors went up first and then the center area was "created".  We knew we wanted a nice electric fireplace/heater at the bottom, TV at the top and shelves between.  We discussed doors in the middle section but decided to leave it open with the option of doors if we changed our minds later.  The shelves don't look like shelves, he designed some very attractive fronts.  He came up with the idea of painting the back wall of the center black.  I kind of wondered about that and expressed my concerns.  It looks awesome!  With the TV and open spaces for satellite dish control and dvr player it just looks great.  All materials were solid oak with oak veneer plywood for center sides - all stained in honey oak with polyurethane satin finish.  He also installed bright new lighting and is licensed to do all of the electrical - new outlets, lights, switches, etc.  <br /> Before we started the closet project, we had purchased a steel exterior door with oak finish to replace a glass paned door that has been in the bedroom since we purchased the house 13 years ago.  It was not a secure door and required an expensive full length shade.  The door was removed and we discovered it was installed totally wrong and not level.  Talking to Chuck during that process reminded me of Holmes on Homes on DIY.  He couldn't believe what he was finding!  We have 7 inch wide wall studs, so our pre-hung door was for regular 2x4 wall studs.  The existing door was also standard, but with a real poorly designed installation.  When he finished he had built the exterior door extension so the storm door installed properly, set the main door level and strait, foamed it in, used some other material under the threshold that I had never seen for water proofing and of course calked where needed.  He does not do any painting, so I will need to paint the outside door frame.  We are also happy with the new door. <br />"

"They showed up a week later than promised, worked for a day and a half, then left on Thursday for the entire week. When they returned the next Monday, they sat or stood around and talked more than they worked. They constantly left the gates open, which we asked them not to so our dogs wouldn't escape the yard. They took twice as long as quoted and the finished product was terrible, but we just wanted them gone. We will never use these people again! <br />"

"We needed to get a mystery leak found and fixed; along with that I knew that the workmanship done by the previous owner was sub-standard and would need to be torn out and redone at some point. This lead to us deciding on getting the whole bathroom redone to the highest standard and right the first time. We had multiple companies and contractors in to quote on the job and although some were very close to what I wanted there was always something that I could say I didn't agree with, either their attitudes, ideas on materials or overblown costs. <br /> Ethos came in to quote (David and Rick) and were the right fit. Not only do they have a wealth of experience that they can give when materials are being discussed but they also work hard to give the customer exactly what they want while remaining in their budget. <br /> David and Rick did the demo very fast and competently, they kept dust and debris to a minimum and laid protective paper and pads down on all areas they would be using to transport the demo material. At the end of every day they tidied up their equipment and made sure they had also cleaned up. <br /> Ben and Cole came in for the install and they have the same great attributes as David and Rick. Not only are they exceedingly professional but also easy going, knowledgeable, fun and work hard to make everything right. <br /> They asked all the right questions when it came to choices, making sure that we were happy with every step along the way. We changed our minds on a couple of points that we had agreed upon previously and it was never made to feel like a pain or burden. <br /> The job took a little longer than agreed upon due to a supplier not delivering the right parts on time. However, during that time I could look for any final touch ups that needed to be done. I will say that I did put the job under the microscope and whenever I found something it was always dealt with till I was completely satisfied. <br /> I will add this. Ethos works hard and it shows. the attention to details is great. If you find fault, they will bend over backwards to make it right. The finished product is better than I imagined and I would use Ethos again. In fact I am going to be calling David again within the next week or so to get him to quote on another project I need doing. I would trust Ethos hands down and have high regard for them and their professional approach. <br />"
