"I hired Starline Van Lines LLC for a move from GA to NY, initially quoted $1,930 with a $700 deposit. After correcting the inventory to 124 items, my estimate increased to $5,485 with another $1,000 deposit. On move day, movers from an undisclosed subcontractor, MoveKing LLC, arrived instead of Starline. Despite removing large items, I was told my quote (1250 cf) was insufficient. I was forced to pay an additional $1,892.50 before loading began. Only half the truck was filled, and I was told the rest would cost $1,200 more?even though all items were part of the original quote. Items left behind included TVs, a desk, recliners, and bedroom sets. The mover said they'd return the next day, but as of the 10:02pm of July 4, the move remains incomplete. This reflects deceptive pricing, failure to disclose subcontracting, and violation of moving laws. I request a refund and will continue to investigate both companies."
