"It turned out beautifully. The demolition of my old driveway happened the same day I hired them. It sat looking like that for a while before they came to put down the new asphalt. The demo was on July 19 and the work was finished on August 2. That is probably normal however, I wish I would have had a clear path to walk between the piles of dirt and rocks. Looking back I think it would have been a good idea to put down some cardboard to walk upon. During the 2 weeks it rained a couple times and there was a lot of mud that my family walked through and made a mess of their shoes and the carpet in my cars and home. Of course that is no reflection on Blacktoppers, just an observation and a word to the wise."

"It went well. They couldn't seal our driveway under the Angie's List deal that we had because something about our driveway was different, but they sealed it using a different sealant. Although, it cost more in the end. The sealant worked well for a couple of years."

"I contacted Goode Paving to request a quote on removing the 20+ year old concrete driveway on my elderly parent's home and installing asphalt.  The representative was very pleasant and provided a lot of information over the phone about the company and what they do.  They scheduled an estimate for the following day and the estimator showed up 10 minutes early.  I was concerned about proper water drainage, as they had a few problems with the current driveway, but he was knowledgeable about the proper technique to solve my problem. Their price was reasonable, about in the middle of the bids I received, but the main selling point was their professionalism.  Of the estimates I received (some only verbal, some written on the back of a business card) Goode Paving provided an incredibly professional presentation.  From the folder they provided with a host of information about the paving process, hiring a paving contractor, and caring for my driveway to their typed estimate, uniformed employees, and overall knowledge of the trade, I did not hesitate to put this job in their hands. On the day we scheduled to have the work completed they arrived on time and worked very efficiently, did everything they promised, and cleaned up effectively.  Now, nearly three weeks after the work was completed, the water is flowing as promised and the job looks excellent.  I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them or use them again.

"Although I am not a fan of spending money on driveways, Mitchell Paving made the experience pleasant and hassle-free. We met with the owner and reviewed what needed to be done. He was knowledgeable and very helpful in giving us ideas to help redirect water that had been flowing into our garage. He outlined the curve of the driveway as we had specific ideas of how we wanted it done. The job was done in a day and I have to say my husband and I were very pleased and impressed. "Sal knew immediately what the issue was and promptly scheduled an appointment to come look at the front porch. During the discussion I also mentioned that we had periodic leaking along the front wall of our house, which occurred only after days of heavy rains. Sal proposed that we had two issues to fix. First, he said that we needed a a membrane placed on the front porch underneath the stone in order to seal that whole area. He also found that the front porch step was too high, which is against code, and said that they would lower it during the corrective process. Second, he pointed out that the grading had settled on the front wall post-new construction and it needed to be re-graded (the periodically leaky wall). He scheduled the work a month or so later and it took a few days to complete. The stones from the front porch were removed and cleaned, and the membrane was put in place. He mentioned that he found two holes under the porch where water was leaking. After the porch was sealed, the stones were reassembled and the the grouting was redone and was much improved over the original construction. Second, the plants were cut down in the area that need to be regraded (we knew this would have to be done) and additional dirt was well packed along the edge of the wall creating a nice grade away from the house. We replanted this fall. Another piece of advice they offered but said we could do ourselves if we preferred, was to add dirt along a couple of walls around the house that had settled over time. There were no leaks associated with that settling but we could clearly see that it needed to be done. So we completed that job. We completed that job ourselves. DiFatta's work was very good and our leaks are now fixed! We did a little more sealing on the threshold of the door to make it completely watertight. This is the FIRST time since we built the house that the front porch hasn't leaked! They were reliable, honest and completed the job on time. There were minimal hassles and Sal worked hard to communicate every step of the way. We would definitely use them again."
