"It was great. An excellent job done very efficiently, in spite of weather issues. Even the city inspector was impressed. The company owners were very easy to work with and took into consideration all of the special issues this particular job had. They were easy to talk to and quickly answered my questions as they came up. I will certainly contact them when I need a general contractor for future projects."

"Very impressed with their service. I was initially concerned whether they could take care of the roof leak because I had paid a different roofing company a couple of years ago a lot of money only to still have the leak. Joe and his son walked me through their process step by step even with photos to show where the issue was. We have had multiple rainy days with no more leaks. We would definitely recommend Preferred roofing!"

"Overall the installation went well. Initially there was a little confusion over what we we actually wanted. However, the guys were responsive to this, and were always wanting to make sure we got what we wanted, and that we were happy with the work."

"When it was time to replace my roof, I knew a reliable roofing company was crucial. After all, a roof is a significant investment. I contacted several companies, but most were listed online with just a name and phone number, which didn’t inspire much confidence. Then I found On-Top Roofing. Meeting Ruben, the owner, in person made a real difference. He was courteous, patient, and easy to talk to. Their long history of positive reviews, spanning over 20 years, was reassuring. With Ruben’s guidance, I selected the colors for my shingles, valley metal, and trim right in his office. Throughout the construction process, Ruben demonstrated a genuine commitment to customer satisfaction. Whenever I had concerns, he addressed them promptly. His team also worked efficiently, completing the project on schedule. With their established office, competitive pricing, and trustworthy owner, On-Top Roofing was the ideal company for my roof replacement. I’m glad I chose them."

"Ok, here's the real deal with this company. Decent work, granted. However, follow up is terrible. The length of time to get the job done was extended out further than discussed. And forget about call returns. I've been ghosted by this guy so many times I'm now resorting this to maybe help him change or in the very least improve on his communications. He seems to be more concerned about getting his fee than anything else. He told me a couple of months to begin and finish a job. Even after I had it prepared for him. 6 months later its finally done and after I had to start pestering him. Never again!!!!"

"Would give zero stars if possible! Larry Hoang at first presented himself as an honest, reasonable man and contractor but his actions have proven this very wrong. We have two major roof leaks that will cost us thousands of dollars to fix - caused by deficient solar panel installation. He refuses to repair them, despite three independent reports from other local licensed contractors indicating the roof damage was *directly* caused by the solar panel installation. We am currently filing a formal complaint with the California State Contractors Licensing Board in an effort to get him to respond, as we cannot even get our roof fixed until he agrees to remove the panels. We hired him specifically because we wanted to support local businesses - but we sincerely regret this decision. Buyer BEWARE! This is not an honorable businessman - nor business!"

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Parlier, CA

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
