Then they hit the road and went straight to our address, no detours, no excuses and gave us the same great service carefully unloading our belongings into the house and garage. In record time, too! No breaks, no scratches, no fuss, no hassles, no headaches. Just great service all around. Highly recommend."

But Maxwell who scheduoed and priced my move called and asked me if I could change my appointment time from 9am to 1-3pm cause another job needed 4 trucks instead of 2. I agreed to help them out. Well that backfired on me! It turned into a rainy day with a storm coming. I had to travel from LI to NJ during rush hour with 2 cats. I left things behind because of these circumstances I have to go back now to get them from my neighbor. $25 Just in tolls! Today company told me I could not get any kind of compensation for my inconveniences. They had even lied about having a bigger job in the first place."

The events following that incident have prompted me to write this second review. The owner of Q’s Moving, as well as his staff, have done such a wonderful job following up since the incident by reaching out and offering us a wonderful compensation for our loss, despite having no legal obligation to do so. I was impressed by their responsiveness and their concern to do the right thing. I call that a) INTEGRITY and b) STANDING BEHIND THEIR WORK. Additionally, despite that one incident with the TV (and we all know accidents happen sometime), the company and its employees did a wonderful job with the move, and again, the response in the aftermath was swift, decisive, cordial, and showed a concern for the customer that we often do not see in business these days. They placed me, their customer, over profits. I therefore give them the highest rating and would use them again."

"This is a follow up to my original review, after posting my review we were contacted by the moving company to appologize for any misunderstandings we had. They were more than accommodating to fix the differences we had. They refunded the money that was in dispute, they were actually more than fair in this process. I have already recieved the refund check. Once again the services they supplied was excellent and if it wasnt for the differences in the final bill we would be happy to say they did an excellent job moving my daughter. Also a big shout out to Home Advisor for how they stood by both the vendor and us in this issue. After moving my daughter once before my wife was very specific about what, where and how this move was to be. The total move was 20 blocks in Manhattan. It was a bedroom a sofa and a 40-inch flat screen TV. When my wife worked out all the arrangements, she received a *binding* bill. We are not moving experts but the movers are, so if they estimate a 4-hour move for twenty blocks we thought they would know. While moving my daughter out they left their truck unattended and got a parking ticket. They brought 2 wardrobe boxes and some tape. We had packed all of her kitchenware as well as much of her clothes. We drove to the new location which is where all the fun started. After bringing up some of the boxes and pieces they presented my wife with a revised bill that was almost double the price quoted in our binding estimate, at this point we were still in the 4-hour range but it seems tape is very expensive. After arguing for over an hour we gave in to a price that was hundreds of dollars over our binding price. If you dont agree then you dont get your furniture. This was an extremely unprofessional interaction. On top of which we never signed to be responsible for their parking ticket which they wanted on top of the new overcharged bill. We looked up NY state law which clearly states the moving company is solely responsible for their tickets, not us. This only made me question everything else they said. Against my wishes my wife still tipped the workers for their efforts, they were courteous and as helpful as their company allowed them to be. I will say if we didnt have all this nonsense about the revised billing their tip would have been much better."
