"Awesome is phanamenial! I took advantage of their coupon 4 hours/280. for the exterior fixtures. Brian and Nick also corrected a code violation from a previous installation. I had a faulty fluorescent fixture so Brian suggested replacing the 4 closet fixtures with LED which they did the following week. Also I am grateful that Brian troubleshooted the living room electrical outage at no cost! Awesome is worth the money! Thanks."

"Warren from Goodside Electric did an outstanding job! He is the best contractor I've ever worked with. He followed up every step of the way from advising how the project will be accomplished and he was all about safety for him and his 2 contractors working with him. He advised me in order to get the outside electrical work done I needed to rent a Scissor lift. We planned the work on Sunday, April 18th & he was prepared to work in the rain if need be to get the job done. Him and his crew arrived promptly at 8am as expected and they were working approximately 6 hours and all the power was up and working when they were finished with their work. Warren filed the electrical permit with the City of Pittsburgh and advised me of the inspection date of May 3rd. The inspection passed with no issues. Warren is very professional and very knowledgeable and very timely and his prices are reasonable He isn't going to sell you something you don't need. He is very honest and straightforward. I would recommend him to anyone needing electrical work done at their home."

"The entire experience was great from start to finish. The price was reasonable and within what I would expect to pay for the scope of the work. In order to upgrade my service the power company had to be called to disconnect power then CW electric did their work, then the work had to be inspected by a 3rd party, and finally, the power company had to come back and reconnect the power. CW electric coordinated all of this. Michael came out promptly at 8 AM on the install date, had the power company there 10 mins later to shut off power, and promptly went to work. They estimated power would be off for 6 hours. Michael had it back on in 5, got the work inspected, and was out the door at the 6 hour mark. He was professional, knowledgeable, courteous, and even offered advice when I asked about some future renovations I am planning on. I also love the new Leviton electrical service panel which is a nice bright white instead of the usually boring grey. IT has large easy to identify and switch breakers. They are green when on and red when tripped. Also, when I had a question after the install; CW electric returned to fix an issue that turned out not to be a problem after all. I recommend this company and would definitely hire them again and probably will in the future."

"We had purchased a big deal for the service, we bought it in April and they came one or 2 weeks ago.  They did a great job. They answered all our questions, because it is our first time here, and we didn't know about the electric rules, so they answered all our questions and concerns."

"I purchased a coupon in the summer and finally contacted them to get an appt. this fall. He called back promptly and we set an appt. for Dec. 1st. That day came and went but there was no word from Eric. I emailed and then called about the planned appt. that he missed. He eventually called back and apologized... said his van had broken down and that he had accidentally left his schedule book in the van with all his numbers. He said to call him back in a week or so. I called and emailed a few times and eventually he called me back. We rescheduled for Monday, Dec. 19th. He arrived at the given time, worked quickly, was very friendly, and did a good job. I recognize this is a busy time so appreciated the fact that he made sure to keep in contact even though it may have taken a bit longer that expected. I would hire him again as he was knowledgeable and was personable."

FAQs for electrical for home addition or remodel installation projects in Penn Hills, PA

Because installing coax outlets involves working around existing electrical wiring and confirming proper grounding, many homeowners prefer to hire a licensed electrician. A professional completes the work safely, secures the line behind the wall, and ensures the installation meets local code, which reduces the risk of damage or future repairs.

You still need a coaxial outlet for most cable-based internet services. The modem draws its signal from a cable line that terminates at a dedicated wall jack. Once the modem is online, your Wi-Fi router can broadcast the signal throughout the home, so the outlet’s location doesn’t affect wireless performance. If an existing jack is damaged or in an inconvenient spot, an electrician can move it or install a new one to maintain a strong, reliable connection.

Coaxial cable loses signal strength the farther it runs. A 50-foot length introduces noticeable loss, and a 100-foot stretch can drop the signal by roughly 30%. A weaker signal can result in a fuzzy picture or slower internet speeds. To maintain high performance, limit cable length whenever possible, select the correct cable grade, and route it efficiently. If your layout demands an exceptionally long run, an electrician can install an inline amplifier to boost the signal and maintain picture or data quality.
