"The job we did included a complete demolition of the backyard. Henry and his crew pushed back the retaining wall to give us more space. Rebuilt the wall. Added some dimension to the backyard by putting a raised area. Installed new pavers, patio, lighting, irrigation, and plants. Also, custom designed a fireplace to add as a focal feature. The entire project took a little over 3 months. Henry's crew was there everyday sometimes even on Saturday. The only delays was due to rain or city permits etc. The complete project surpasses any of our expectations. Even with the 3D drawings, it was hard to picture what it would look like with everything put together - down to the stucco color with pavers style, or concrete color with pavers color etc. It is clear that Henry knows exactly what he is doing and his experience shows. He was advising us the entire way taking into account our preferences and style. Henry even accompanied us to the nursery to pick out trees, shrubs and plants that would be complementary to the landscape while keeping in mind the maintainability especially with a pool in the backyard. The project encountered some unknowns (every project does) and Henry shows his experience through his responsiveness and extensive network of contractors. Even now after the project has been completed for a couple of months, if there is an issue, we can still call him and he will send over someone to take care of it. We would definitely hire him again."

"I decided to give Professional Builders & Remodeling a try after a friend recommended them to me for my kitchen remodel. I am very pleased with the results. They were helpful but not pushy and communicated with me all through the process. The work was finished in a timely manner and final result is excellent. I like it! and will definitely be using them again for more projects in my house ."

"What a wonderful experience. I met with James Jordan who was really knowledgeable about what would work. I looked at their great showroom and he brought books and samples to our house. My husband is a general contractor and asked numerous questions. He was really impressed. James helped us design a new driveway, porch, walkway and backyard. The great crew arrived with Jimmy Jackson. Jimmy was fabulous to work with. He kept everything on time. They worked all day Thursday and Friday. Then it started to rain. It was sunny so they worked tirelessly and really knew what they were doing. They are obviously the best of the best. My husband personally watched everything they did. On Wednesday heavy rains were predicted. Jimmy came with a crew of 10 men and finished the job by 3pm before the rains came. I would use them in a second again. It looks terrific. Our neighbors stop and admire and ask where we had it done. System Pavers, you did an awesome job!"

"First and foremost, Pete and his crew are all good guys, courteous, pleasant to talk with, and very hard working. No doubt about it, they know their stuff! Their concrete work is second to none. The finished product is some of the best I've seen. There were two minor issues. One, they damaged a Honeysuckle that was goring over the water spigot trying to access the water spigot. Partly my fault, Knowing how much water it takes for concrete finishing work, I should have pointed it out on the first day. I had to hack down almost all of bush/vines to free the wire trestle to bend the trestle back into shape. Also while they were rooting around for the hose bib they knocked off of the control box for my auto-watering system. A quick reconnect of the control box and all was well. The Honeysuckle has recovered nicely. So... Initially frustrating, in the long run, no harm. Two is he quoted me $3,800.00 for the job. On the day before the pour he told me he ordered a higher grade of concrete and asked for $200.00 more. Now, from my perspective (both professionally and personally) an additional 5.5% on a change order is not unexpected and reasonable so I said fine, no problem. That ate the tip I had planned on giving them anyway so it didn't cost me any more than I planned. And I got a concrete pad I can park an M1A2 Abrams on should the need arise. I highly recommend them. In fact, when I can afford it, I will call Pete back to do my driveway... This time I'll show him where the hose bib is from the front. :-)"

"If we could pick just one word to describe our experience hiring Palacios Masonry, it would be: Exceptional. We can't rave enough about the extraordinary job Bob and his guys did. (Nicho, Augustin, and Marc (Bob's son) are consummate professionals and geniuses with brick work!) They were prompt, punctual, respectful, honest, hardworking, thorough, detail-oriented, and an all-around pleasure with whom to work. After being disappointed with several other contractors, we turned to Bob to get the job done. And that's exactly what he did. Bob is responsive, thoughtful, upfront, fair, professional, and allergic to B.S. Frankly, and unfortunately, these traits are uncommon among many contractors (in our experience). Based on our personal experience with Bob on several projects many months apart at our home, we would highly recommend Bob and his crew for your project! (Assuming you want someone who goes the extra mile, genuinely cares about your project, and doesn't leave you hanging. #justsaying.) We WILL be hiring Bob and the guys again! Appreciatively, The Grahams"

FAQs for interlocking pavers for patios, walks & steps installation projects in Phelan, CA

To calculate your paver needs:

  • Determine how many pavers cover a square foot.

  • Determine how many square feet you need.

  • Add an additional 10% to 20% for breakage and waste.

  • Consider your pavers’ sizes.

Or, you can hire a local pro who you know will get the right measurements the first time. This way, you get your weekend back instead of spending it measuring square footage.

A pallet of pavers costs $300 to $700 on average, and each pallet covers 56 square feet. The exact price depends on the type, size, and quantity of pavers you choose. Buying in bulk can sometimes offer additional savings, especially for larger projects. Ask your pro how you can save on material costs.

To get the best prices on pavers:

  • Hire a professional landscaper: Pros often receive discounts on materials, which can make hiring them more cost-effective overall.

  • Shop at local building supply stores: Check for overstock or bulk purchase deals. Bulk purchasing can be more costly up front but save you money in the long run.

  • Buy directly from manufacturers: Purchasing from a local brickyard or paver factory can offer competitive prices, especially for large quantities.

The main difference between driveway pavers and patio pavers is their load-bearing capacity. Driveway pavers are designed to withstand the weight of vehicles, whereas patio pavers aren’t suitable for such heavy loads. You can use driveway pavers for a patio, but using patio pavers for a driveway could lead to damage. Always check the weight limits of pavers and consult with a professional installer to choose the right type for your project.

Paver patios cost more than concrete patios because the materials and installation methods require advanced techniques and skilled labor. They deliver enhanced aesthetic appeal and allow for easier small‑scale repairs without affecting property taxes. The higher expense arises from premium paver materials and intricate installation processes that deliver long‑lasting durability and design flexibility. This robust solution provides notable benefits over concrete alternatives, making it a valuable investment for homeowners.
