"We have been using Basic Companies since 2014. We had them finish our basement (2014), remodel our kitchen (2018) and add a bathroom in the basement (2020). In all cases, the projects were completed on time, budget and with the highest quality. Needless to say, we are very satisfied and will be going to them for our next remodeling project. You cannot go wrong with this company."

"I didnâ  t have a ton of money for a high end remodel but West Shore Home was the best solution for my bathroom remodel needs. Right from the start the company and the team handling my remodel were Excellent. My salesperson Adam T. was professional and always available when I need a question answered, the Phenomenal job that Matt S and Will H did to install my new bathroom.. although it took two days ( old 1970 tiles made the job extra challenging). They were professional, arrived on time and the clean up was amazingâ ¦ NO MESS left behind. The finished product Absolutely Beautiful!! I would recommend West Shore Home for your bathroom needs especially if youâ  re on a budget."

"This is the second time I have hired Family and Friends to do a major remodel . They did a complete kitchen Reno two years ago and it went wonderfully. So I hired them again for my master bathroom . I could not be happier with the end result . Bill is a hands on owner and treats all of his projects as if they are his own . They are all about quality and communication, they are not the cheapest option but god work should not be I would hire them a hundred times over and have referred them many times for any remodeling needs !"

"I had a bathroom remodel that went badly so I needed help to fix the poor workmanship. Bryan sent the right man for the job, made the repairs, regrouted the floor, and fixed what was needed to make the job look so much better, at a reasonable price. I would recommend Bryan's for quality work."

"Wally impressed us right away because of how thorough his free estimate was; he had measured everything exactly, and was very specific in his recommendations, and the cost. He respected us and our smaller space, although he had much larger projects. He is a good communicator, and was tolerant when we changed our minds. He provided a list of stores nearby to find samples, choose granite, vanities, etc. Wally was skilled in getting permits and everything went smoothly. He followed the rules set by our condo management company. When the manager allowed only 3 hours of "water off", he enlisted 4 plumbers to scramble and get it done in that time! If a problem arose he communicated right away. He did more than specified, out of his generous good will. For instance, he sent his painter when we'd agreed to paint ourselves. Most of the job was finished before the Covid stay-in-place hit. When we had dishwasher problem during that time, he sent his plumber over to fix it. Soon after he was able to return, Wally came back and completed the few things remaining. Wally's men were friendly and competent and spoke well of him; Wally usually arrived with them and made sure everything was in order. Because Wally is in demand, he may not begin right away after the agreement is signed. It is good to ask an approximate date of beginning. In summary, we were very pleased with the work done on the bathrooms and kitchen. Wally is experienced, honest and dependable - an excellent communicator, & an expert in his field."

"Tom recently did a complete remodel of our bathroom with spectacular results. He and "tile man, Gus" are perfectionists whose aim is to ensure customer satisfaction. Consulting with us throughout the process, Tom provided knowledgeable input to guide us in selecting the materials and fixtures for the project. His work is flawless in all respects and we would hire him again."

"We had our master bathroom and hallway bathroom remodeled in September/October of 2020. This is a good company. They are a bit on the pricey side but you get what you pay for which includes having a project manager that deals with all the headaches that go with a remodeling project. This company returns your calls, replies to your emails and keeps their appointments. The bathrooms look beautiful. The contractors we were assigned (Jon and Leo) did a really super great job. We had Mike F. as our project manager. We really liked him a lot. He was very personable, communicated with us, was on top of the remodeling progress and even threw in our master clothes closet to be painted at no extra charge. The painter they sent (Luiz) did a phenomenal job with the painting. Tom (the owner), Arsan (the designer) and Laura (the admin asst) were all a pleasure to work with. We would recommend this company."

FAQs for bathroom remodel projects in Philadelphia, PA

You can buy a replacement vanity by selecting a pre-made unit with an integrated sink from a local home improvement supplier. Pre-made vanities are designed for easy installation and compatibility with your existing plumbing. If a ready-made option doesn't meet your needs, consider hiring a custom builder to create a vanity that fits your space and style.

You can purchase a bathroom vanity from major home improvement retailers like Home Depot and Lowe’s or online stores like Wayfair, which offer a variety of pre-made vanities. Visiting local showrooms and bathroom supply stores can also provide professional advice and help you choose the right vanity for your space.

Installing your bathroom vanity flush against the wall enhances stability and prevents shifting. This placement also eliminates hard-to-clean gaps and keeps your vanity securely in place. Building codes often require a minimum clearance of four inches from bathtubs and at least 21 inches of free space in front of the sink for accessibility and safety.

You can upgrade a single vanity to a double vanity by installing additional cabinets, a second sink, and matching fixtures. This process requires additional plumbing adjustments, countertop modifications, and careful alignment to ensure both sinks function correctly. Upgrading to a double vanity enhances bathroom functionality and offers more space, which is especially beneficial for shared bathrooms.

The best vanity top material depends on your budget, style preferences, and maintenance willingness. Materials like quartz or solid surfaces are excellent choices for durability and low maintenance. If you're on a tighter budget, laminate is affordable but less durable. Consider how much traffic your bathroom gets and choose a material that balances cost, appearance, and upkeep.

Installing a bathroom vanity takes between three and six hours. Simple installations may be completed in under three hours, while more complex projects requiring adjustments or plumbing modifications can take up to six hours or more. The installation process includes assembling cabinets, placing the countertop, installing the sink if necessary, and connecting plumbing.
