"Since this wasn't a rush job, we worked out a mutually agreeable time.  They arrived at the date/time we arranged. They replaced the leaking tub faucet with a replacement I had already purchased.  Works great.  The pipe leading to outdoor spigot was leaking into wall, and they were able to find the small leak and fix it.  While looking for the leak, they discovered a highly corroded pipe on hot water heater that was just starting to drip, pointed it out and fixed it while there.  All and all they were there about 2 hours. Good work.  Note: they pick up their mess but do not sweep up after themselves, which I would prefer to do myself anyway, and not have them charge me for the time it takes for them to do it. <br />    They mentioned they are getting more service calls as they are still willing to do small jobs, while other plumbers will not handle the small jobs.   As with most plumbers, much of the fee is for them showing up, so bundle jobs if you can! <br />   I will definitely use them again. <br />"

"I received my radon results in a timely manner. I did not hire them specifically, (so, I cannot say I would hire them again) the local company contracted them for this service. The home inspector I hired, handled this service for me and included the results in his report."

"The owner definitely knows the business. Dealt well with various crews and suppliers. Unlike companies that only sell flooring, Jr's installed a sturdy and quite subfloor. And their salesman Bill, certainly worked to find the exact LVT I wanted. As most construction projects go, it took longer than planned, mostly due to the LVT supplier. Jr's and his outside contractors really worked with me to get the results I wanted. My only complaint is I wish it cost less, but you get what you pay for."

"Wonderfully done work from very stand up guys. The crew is personable and works quickly. Everything that was needed was done and comes at a good cost. We are very happy with the results and would recommend anyone needing any excavation work to go with Brian. All piping looks great, and they did a lot of work in the time that they were here."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Philipsburg, PA

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
