"Johnny and his crew of four did a great job removing and trimming trees. Johnny pointed out termites and carpenter ants and told me how to treat the infected areas. I was only going to schedule one tree for removal, but was happy Johnny took a look around and helped me identify other issues that needed attention."

"Derrick was extremely professional, knowledgeable and meticulous when he came to preform his services. I had additional services performed over and above the original prices of $199.00. The $199.00 took care of 4 trees based on the amount of trimming needed done. I then had him take care of an additional 2 trees for a very reasonable price. He took his time and trimmed or cut everything very nicely! He and is staff cleaned every branch up and hauled away or shredded the birch limb. He even let know that I needed a gutter cleaned out. AND did I mention, he was here on New Years Eve!!! Not a lot of people would do that. Great job and thanks!!!!!!!"

"Time Wright, owner of Busting Bark, cut down 6 trees including an unpleasant locust with large thorns. Other trees were trimmed to raise the canopy to make it easier to mow and Tim climbed my large oak and removed dead branches. The estimate was completed within a few days of my telephone call and Tim came back a couple weeks later to do the job as agreed. Tim is pleasant, his charges were fair ,and he took time to rake up after he finished. Tim also asked for permission to trim a few additional branches he saw on trees I had not requested. He did not ask for extra payment for the additional work (I added on a couple hundred dollars at my discretion for the additional work). The yard looks good and two neighbors have since hired Tim to do tree work as well based on the professionalism they observed going on at my home. I will use Busting Bark again."

"I hired Following Steps Landscapers to build a new fence in my backyard, as well as to remove very old chain link and privacy fencing already in place. Once I contacted the owner, Angel, he was able to visit my property and supply an estimate within the week. Work began the following week. Very old fencing was removed and replaced with approximately 225 feet of pressure treated wood privacy fencing. The fencing included two gates: one in front and one in the rear of the property.  One side of the property proved problematic in that it included two old fences parallel to each other containing many old tree stumps as well as weeds and vines. Angel's crew removed everything to install a beautiful fence. The other side of my property contains a very large mulberry tree that sits directly on the property line shared with my neighbor. Angel's crew was able to split the fence to accommodate the tree. My neighbor said the crew was very nice to him when he was giving instructions as to where the property line sat. The crew also removed a large pine tree in the front yard that was planted too close to the house. Work was completed in a week. I was so pleased that the crew, who was very pleasant, also trimmed all of my bushes and cleaned the existing flower beds!  Everything was well prepared for me to begin new plantings in the spring. I was extremely happy with Following Steps work and, if need be, will hire them again.

"Did a fantastic job! We had them doing yard work around the house which consisted of removal of a few small trees, overgrown flower beds, weeds and lots of vines. Very happy with their work! Thank you!!"

"I originally reached out to Douglass because I no other landscapers would return my calls. Douglass got back to me within a few hours and he and his team were out at my property that week. Since then I haven't used anyone else for yard services. Douglass is easy to get in contact with, punctual, fairly priced, and does a great job. He's incredibly knowledgeable about plants, grass and everything having to do with landscaping, and even better you can tell he is incredibly passionate about his work and plant health in general. He always answers any question I have and takes the time to explain things. He's really been terrific to work with."

FAQs for trees & shrubs treat, protect and maintain projects in Pickerington, OH

A tree doctor or tree surgeon is another term for an arborist. The term is more common in places like the United Kingdom. They are professionals trained to plant, care for, maintain, diagnose, and remove trees of all kinds. Tree doctors have specialized knowledge to ensure the health and safety of trees.

Arborists are tree care specialists who plan, maintain, and enhance the health of trees with expert precision. They prune, diagnose diseases, treat pest infestations, remove hazardous limbs, and manage debris cleanup while developing comprehensive landscaping plans. They also handle tree planting and work with landscape professionals to ensure long-term tree vitality and safety.

Consulting arborists are tree experts who can advise homeowners and business owners on the right trees to plant, how to care for existing trees, and what to do about trees that appear to be sick or pose a safety threat. A consulting arborist may work with local landscape architects, investment property owners, city governments, developers, and other arborists.

An arborist may be able to save a dying tree. If you notice that your tree suddenly appears to be sick or is exhibiting unusual behavior, contact an arborist immediately. They will thoroughly inspect the tree to determine what might be wrong with it—and will let you know if it’s possible to save the tree and how to do it.

Verifying an arborist’s credentials is crucial for reliable tree care. Arborists must be licensed by their state and hold certifications from reputable organizations such as the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA). Request proof of licensing and certification, and review local recommendations to ensure you are hiring a professional who meets high industry standards and adheres to strict safety protocols.
