"Estimators came out and measured even though not all the overgrown shrubbery was cut back or removed yet. The previous fence was quality redwood that was the norm in the 1960s, but parts were falling apart. Concrete bases between posts had been poured then, I suspect to reduce rot. Cost of taking them out was prohibitive, so Fence Co. recommended leaving them even though roots had moved them so that they were not perfectly level. Skirt of the new cedar, capped fence met the top edge of this border. Also complicating the situation was the original posts had not been measured exactly evenly, and with the concrete border they had to work around this. My neighbor to the east wanted steel posts, but my neighbor to the north didn't care and neither did we. So I agreed to split the cost of steel on the one neighbor's side. I don't think their steel post work was excellent because you can see some of the steel peeking through the wood, and when this is done well you can't tell the difference. The rest of the fence looks awesome. We had to have one gate switched on the way it would open because it didn't clear the sidewalk, which was no longer perfectly even. I thought the installer should have noticed that, but they fixed it the next day. We salvaged a bunch of the wood, 10-inch by 1-inch planks especially, to build raised beds, and they neatly piled this wood for us, and then took away the chunks we didn't want.. They also worked around a volunteer oak tree that is right up next to the fence. It will likely be a problem 10 years from now, but for now we get to enjoy the tree. We just finished staining the inside of the fence, and have burned through about $300 in stain. And we aren't done, so consider that cost. We had the rest of the shrubs pulled, and stumps ground before they got there. The job was finished in 3 days or so, and our neighbor's dogs didn't get too agitated. It looks beautiful. My only wish was that they would have been willing to split the bill between the three neighbors. Two of us have paid our portion, and one of us is tardy. My name is on the late bill, so I get to nag my neighbor! I called out Rebel Fence to get a comp, but after the estimator came out, they lost all the paperwork, the person on the phone started complaining about paperwork flow, and I decided I was sticking with this bid. Overall, I'm happy. <br />"

"Great company to work with! Timely, efficient, courteous, and willing to deal with our fickle needs. The team of people that carefully worked on our project were professional and hard working. We are grateful for the job very well done. We would recommend Viking in a heartbeat, and we hope to have them back to do more work. <br />"

"I only had a gentleman from Down Home Construction and Renovation here once and I would have him back. I'm glad he came. He's very personable and knowledgeable. I liked him enough even just with that one meeting that I took his business card and put it in my business card drawer. Those people that go in there are the only ones I would like to contact again. I do know he's a good electrician because I watched him when he did the work here. We talked about other things and he seemed to have some good ideas. He wasn't outrageous as far as he was charging. Majority of the people charge travel time and some of them are good enough to say if you can wait, they have a job to do there so they can do the job all at the same time. I said I'm no big hurry but I need to do these stuffs. He said he has a job coming up next week so he suggested he'll come Tuesday that way I won't pay any extra charge for him to come. That works for me. I really appreciate it. Most electricians charge you a lot and some of them live right here. He was very reasonable and that helped because he knew when he was coming and it would save me a little bit. He was very nice, called me back right away and when he came here, he was right on time. He did the work exactly how I requested it and it ended up looking good. I like him and I would like him back."

"It went very well. He never varied from his estimate of labor costs and there was only a few extra supplies that needed purchasing after his original materials estimate but that was usually for extra work we asked him to do as the project progressed. There were a few times when we observed things that we preferred another way (such as the color of paint used on the vents) and when they were brought up with him he adjusted very quickly. Much of the work was done while we were on vacation and we trusted Ceaser with the keys to our house. We're very happy with the final result. <br />"
