"These guys went above and beyond. They were very punctual and started working right away. They found the leaks and fixed them and even added extra flashing where someone else didn't add it. They told me to to keep an eye on those spots and if they leak again, they could come out there and fix it up free of charge. They gave me advice on adding a small gutter above my daughter's window. I feel confident they have fixed the problems. Will definitely call these guys again. I have had a lot of bad workers in the past, so I am saving this company's number to call in the future!"

"Perfect. I enjoyed getting to sit in the storm shelters at their showroom to help with size selection. After signing up for the install, they connect you to an online portal to manage the contract and to update building permit number, etc. Installation was prompt and clean."

Please do NOT use Angi messaging or any part/feature of their site to get ahold of us! We can't log in to all the 3rd party sites out there just to see who is trying to contact us. Email us directly please! And if you don't email us but instead use this or some other site to try to "message" us and we don't respond, please don't leave us a bad review - because we are letting everyone know UP FRONT that we can't possibly check all these sites for messages.\n\nWelcome! We're glad you found us! Our email address is the best way to get our attention. That address is (chris@customdeckworks.com) When we are extrememly busy it could take days for us to respond - but we WILL respond. We purposefully have the Angie's List Message Center disabled to avoid problems. Please do NOT use Angi messaging or any part/feature of their site to get ahold of us! Check our website for more details. Owner operated. 2-6 employees. Specialty outdoor structure company. Free estimates. Cost is determined by job and current lumber prices. No surprise costs - absolute total is always listed on the contract. ALSO, when leaving us a review: Angie's List provides a spot to list the Approx Cost of your project. Please don't take that so literally. These decks are VERY custom, & materials are so varied, & so price is relative. New customers can't get a true perspective no matter what you put, so just put $100. The materials are the majority of your price &, no matter how bad we wish we could, we can't control those costs. You WILL get the BEST price for what you're getting.

"After buying a home in Little Rock in 2021, I employed Bert Black AC to maintain and clean my air conditioning system. I paid for an annual maintenance agreement. During the first 13 months I lived in the home, Bert Black AC came to my home to service my system on 3 occasions. After being in the home for approximately 14 months, I noticed mold growing in the top of both bathrooms. I immediately hired a testing company and a building scientist to determine the problem. They both informed me that my air conditioning system had not been maintained properly. A review by another air conditioning company revealed that Bert Black had not removed the top of my outside system to clean it properly. As a result of proper maintenance, dirt and debris had clogged the system and it was no longer removing humidity from the air. This resulted in a major mold problem throughout the home. When it was determined that air conditioning maintenance was the issue, I phoned the Bert Black office and requested to speak to Michael Love, the CEO of Bert Black. I spoke with Judy, the office manager on 3 occasions. On all the occasions, she refused to allow me to speak to Mr. Love. Around the time this problem occurred, I had paid for a second annual maintenance plan. Since I had no intention of using Bert Black in the future, I requested a refund. Judy refused to refund the maintenance plan fee. The cost of testing, air conditioning maintenance and mold removal was around $15,000.00. As a result of health problems related to exposure to the mold and at the recommendation of the mold experts, I was forced to sell the home. I highly recommend that no one use Bert Black for air conditioning services. The poor quality of work that they performed in my home resulted in significant health problems and major costs to treat mold growth in the home. And when a problem occurs, the office manager will now allow anyone to speak to the person in charge, Michael Love."

"In 2024, I spent about $20,000 with PI Roofing on a new roof and fascia repair. Within six months an area where they replaced the fascia detached from my house. This spring my roof has a leak. During the quote phase, they told me they'd haul off an old TV antenna. (It is still here). After the job was finished there were roofing materials left in my driveway. (I had to call to get those picked up). When I signed this contract, my Dad made fun of me for spending so much. I thought it would be worth it because of the warranty. I was even excited about the promised roof checkup they provide free in the first year, but it turns out you will not get the free checkup unless you demand it. And the warranty doesn't cover all that much. I have dealt with some very nice people at this company and have avoided writing a negative review for quite some time, but the bottom line is I cannot recommend this company. I have to believe there are better roofing businesses in the area."

"Don Broussard’s company, A&D Restoration did an excellent job for us! We’re kind of picky and had a few minor things we weren’t 100% happy with, and I told Don as much. He had his guys back out to fix what needed fixing in a timely manner and at no additional charge to me. We really couldn’t be happier. Don is very attentive and straightforward, which we greatly appreciate. His subcontractors and his own crew did excellent work, and his way of doing things makes sure insurance covers it. If you’ve got restoration work that needs to be done, I highly recommend you give Don / A&D Restoration a call!"

"BRS was prompt and delivered exactly as promised. They worked hard and completed the entire project in one day. When I returned from work the roof was finished and I couldn’t even tell they had been there, there was zero mess. The only evidence was a beautiful new roof. BRS is the the best contractor I have ever worked with out years of working with them."

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Pine Bluff, AR

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
