"The guys that came out for the installation were great, they did what they were supposed to do.   <br /> There was a little confusion on the 2nd day, because it was raining in Des Moines, but was not raining here, so the guys were sent home and didn't work that day.  I tried to explain that it was not raining in Winterset, but the Customer Service personnel said they would not call them installers back in.   <br /> Day 3 they worked in the rain and cold but got the job complete.  They did have to take an hour break in their truck due to heavy rain.   <br /> All in all, the product is good, the installers did a great job, the office personal well........ "Was very pleased with Alan's communication and timeliness. Work began exactly when he said it would, and was completed within a week. Given the sheer size of the project (450 feet of fence with 3 gates), this was impressive. I selected steel posts (Postmaster) rather than wooden posts, and many of the holes had to be dug manually due to electric/gas/cable line location. This obviously added to the costs, but this quote was still the lowest by far. The fence looks wonderful, and I have had many compliments from friends and neighbors."

"Dan was the salesman.  Joe and Jeff installed the vertical posts.  And one week later, Curt and Fernando installed the chain link and the 6' gate.  Dan was very responsive through the sales process and provided clear details about the schedule.  He stopped communicating with us after we raised a question about the difference in post heights.  The last contact we had with him was after the posts were installed and he told us of the final installation date.  The vertical post installation went well.  The posts were 30" deep at the corners and at least 24" deep everywhere else.  They were level and well lined up.  They were more uneven at the top than desired.  They told me this would be taken care of by the final installers.  Part II -- installing the chain link.  Several long scratches were made on the top rails during their installation.  I did ask them to replace one top rail section (and they did).  I viewed this as rather careless installation.  They were simply going to spray it with black paint to cover up the scratches.  Overall, the quality of the material is high.  The workers were friendly and knew what they were doing.  However, the attention to detail during installation was not what I had hoped."

"Chris is very accommodating and pays very close attention to detail.  He does not accept any substandard work from any sub contractors and will have the work corrected if substandard.  This did not happen much but expect it if you have a complete renovation that takes 3-4 months to complete. The home was purchased with a renovation in mind including adding a 600 sq. foot addition containing the great room and master bedroom.  We lived in the home during the process which is good and bad.  Living area is reduced and you have to be flexible however being around to answer questions seemed very helpful to everyone.  Chris is highly knowledgeable about the process and we would hire him again for this large project! <br /> The job included:  an addition, new roof, complete paint job, new kitchen, new flooring throughout the home, new stone fireplace, complete new master bathroom including walk-in shower, dry sauna,  Walk-in closet with built-ins. <br /> Whatever bumps you have during the process, Chris will address your concerns and make it right! <br />"

Owner, Tim has over 25 years of installation experience and gate building between American Fence, Des Moines Steel Fence, and running his own company. Usually the bill will be paid with half paid as a down payment, and then you dont pay anything else until you're satisfied. If materials have to be ordered from out of town, then the materials will have to be paid in full and then labor wont be paid until you're satisfied. We pride ourselves on customer service and always being able to give you the best price.
