"Service is going very well so far. Company was responsive to the fact that I want to keep a more eco-friendly lawn without a lot of pesticides and just did fertilization for me without pesticide application. Set up aeration and fertilization schedule for the year."

"Ordered at just after 8am Saturday. Price was just over $30 per yard, plus delivery. I was told it would arrive between 11am and 1pm and I would get a call when the truck was on its way. And that is exactly what happened. Driver was polite, and put the mulch exactly where I wanted it. Mulch was good quality and consistent with pictures on the website. Can't fault this experience. Will definitely use in future."

"Very Good - They took (basically) weeds and some grass (with tons of insects) and made it a beautiful lawn. It took a year, but it was worth it. I have a very large lawn, so it does cost $130 an application. However, I know they are very affordable for smaller lawns."

"Started out really good. Jim met with us, listened to our needs and preferences, and put together a solid design that met our requirements and fit in our $15K budget. Construction on our project was started and finished at the agreed-upon dates. So, what didn't we like? 1) The biggest concern was the drainage basin that was created in the front yard. A 5 x 11 pit was dug and filled with landscaping stones; then sodded over so it would not be visible. The pit receives the runoff from the downspouts, sump pump, and french drain along the side of the house. A genius idea, except the sod over the pit all died early the following season. When we called Jim he said there was no reason the grass shouldn't have grown, but he would be happy to do a proposal for a hardscape (additional cost). It wasn't until this year we dug into the dead sod and discovered the reason - the sod was laid right on top of the rocks and felt and no topsoil was used. Our voicemails on Jim's office and cell numbers, inquiring about the pit were not returned. 2) Issued reported within the one-year warranty were only partially addressed. Some areas of dead sod were replaced immediately, but a few dead plants we reported were never replaced. Joint sand that eroded on the patio was also not addressed. These were after we emailed a reminder the following spring, and were promised the issues would be fixed that season. 3) Jim said with certainty that a layer of topsoil was added in the yard before the new sod was installed. We have since dug into several places in the yard while doing later projects, and found this was not the case. 4) Jim did not seem to have an appreciation for modern irrigation systems. Though we spent the extra money to extend and improve our sprinkler system to cover all the new landscaping, Jim insisted on our hand watering every plant and bush daily for the remainder of the season, which took something like 2 hours a day of moving the hose from plant to plant. (until we added splitters on the hose to water multiple plants at once, but still a lot of effort) 5) Other than telling us to water for hours, no care instructions were provided. 6) The last couple times I have left messages on Jim's office or cell number, even with just simple questions, they were not returned. So, did we get our money's worth? Mostly, in terms of the work that was done. Some corners were cut but overall our requirements were met. But was I treated the way I would treat a customer who entrusted me with 15K of work? Given the missed warranty issues and unreturned calls, definitely not."

"We have been repeat customers year after year for both lawn and snow. The grass is always perfect and completed on the day we have scheduled. We are also on the were control program which is extremely helpful to our busy schedule. They take care of and blowing all of the clippings off the walkways and it looks great week after week. In the winter we never have to worry because the drive is consistently plowed. Brent is super friendly, easy to get a hold of and makes sure everything is done of with a quickness. I'd refer Kensington to anyone in the area."

"I needed to replace the sand in my two level paver patio. Most of the sand had been removed as a result of cleaning off weeds and moss that I had since the last time I put sand in the patio 4 years ago. I had two areas where the back patio needed to be re-leveled due to ants undermining the patio, plus the front walkway had to be re-leveled; ~ 35 sq ft of patio had to be re-leveled. Initially I was also going to install a new paver walkway from the front of the home to the back to match up with the existing patio. This would require moving several bushes and adding stepping stones through the landscape. I had four companies come out in Apr-May, and decided that Mike would be the best one. He was not the cheapest but not the highest either. I read the reviews on Angie's List for his company and everyone I read had very positive things to say about his company. When I showed him what needed to be done, he explained the repairs to me such that I felt like he knew what I wanted and the right way to accomplish it. We ended up postponing the walkway and just doing the repairs this year. <br /> <br />He scheduled me for mid June. He initially had to push me out to mid July, due to all the rain we had plus avoid our family vacation. But then he was able to come out a few days before we went on vacation to start the job. He re-leveled the areas that needed to be repaired, and replaced all the sand before we went on vacation. He was not able to get the sealer on before we left and due to his work schedule and the weather was not able to come out to do the sealing for about 2.5 weeks later. Since the pavers sat unsealed, they developed a white haze covering a good portion of them due to all the rain that occurred after he installed the sand. Not sure whether the haze was due to the initial installation of the sand or the subsequent rains that came and washed out additional glue. Regardless, he had to clean the pavers off before he could apply the sealer. He did this with no issue and applied the sealer. The patio looks like new. The areas he re-leveled eliminated the pools of water that would occur when it would rain. My wife and I are extremely happy with their work. The fact that it took much longer than anticipated I think was due mostly to things that were out of his control, (weather, vacation). <br /> <br />We will be calling Mike back in the fall to discuss more landscaping upgrades. <br /> <br />One lesson learned for me is to not wait until April-May to talk to companies about landscaping work. If you want the work done in Apr-May, you need to talk to these companies in Feb-Mar. <br /> <br /> <br />"
