"We recently contacted Mitchell to replace cellar propane piping, plus install 2 outside faucets in our home. Hersponded quickly and setup a time to inspect the worksite. His visit was prompt and as scheduled. He explained our options, than quoted a range of potential costs which he matched exactly when the work was completed. Mitchell is very personable, and clearly answered any questions that came up as the work progressed. The job was completed quickly, and it is obvious he is a skilled, knowledgeable, hard worker. We'll be calling Mitchell for any plumbing work in the future, and will be sure to spread the word among our friends and neighbors Thanks so much, Mitchell Tom and Suki Wright...Contoocook, NH"

"Fred was wonderful. He converted my new stove/range from Natural gas to propane. In the process, he fixed the gas lines coming from outside the home to the range. Even though it was a small project, he was out very quickly after my call. I expect to be hiring Meredith Plumbing and Heating again for a different project."

"I was in the market for a new electric hot water heater to replace the one at my condo and one of the first places I reached out to was D'Ambruoso Plumbing and Heating.  I received a call back within the hour (after hours mind you...) and got a quote that was within my budget.  Not only was the price right, but Ed and his son were able to install it the next day.  I was quite surprised since we're in the middle of a cold snap and all the other contractors I reached out to were booked for 7-14 days.  The best part was that they removed the old heater and installed the new one in less than 3 hours.  Ed was very friendly and even gave me some good tips to keep the heater running for a long time.  If I need more plumbing work in the future, I'll will definitely call D'Ambruoso first. <br />"

"Everything went very well. They installed all the heating/HVAC and plumbing.  Other than minor corrections, the systems have performed as expected.  The Geo-Thermal took a bit of time to adjust to the supply and demands of the system.  As with all new technology we had a few corrections but Seely and his staff were very quick to respond and address any needs.  They even come out on a Saturday night if needed :)  There cost of the systems and maintenance fees are reasonable.  They might not be the least expensive but you get what you pay for and they are well worth it. <br /> I would highly recommend Seely Plumbing and Heating for any of your needs.  Jim Seely and his staff are knowledgable and have good solutions, repairs and corrections.   <br />"

"They're competitively-priced and responsive. We had a 20-degree temperature last winter and we realized that the furnace wasn't working but they got it temporarily going for us in no time. The repair went for a while because they had to get the parts that were needed. They're professional and they don't give up on a project until they're completely satisfied that it's done right."

"They did some good work for me. The price was reasonable but then when I called them back for something minor, they never did the work that they were supposed to so I stopped using them. It was too bad because when I gave them the big job they wanted it, and then for the little job they kind of blew me off. So the work that I'm doing this summer I wouldn't call them anymore and I would use another one. I liked them when I used them last summer, they did probably $2300 worth of work for me and they did it quickly and properly. The price was a little on the higher side but I thought he was a great guy at the time. He didn't do the job that I asked him to do this past winter because maybe it was too much of a hassle and not worth his time so I wouldn't use him again."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Plymouth, NH

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
