"we hired Vulcan in July 2017 for a new paver patio we did not hear from them until the end of October. We asked them to wait to install until the spring of 2018 but when i came home one day in October my deck was gone and my patio was broken so, we decided we had no choice but to move forward. Once they had the deck removed they started removing the dirt and instead of hauling it away they started dumping it in the green space behind our home which was not discussed or something that we would allow. The customer service was not the best and the price was higher than most."

"Jason McGee of Robinsnest Landscape Services is one of a half dozen licensed and approved contractors for septic installation in Clallam county. I sent requests for bid to a half dozen contractors in the Sequim area, 3 responded, and only Jason took the initiative to call me in response to my email. <br>Jason dug up the 2 access ports on the primary septic tank, cut the risers and installed them with Quickcrete, installed the lids with stainless hex bolts and cleaned up afterwards. He also made recommendations for cleaning and servicing the tank, and installed a filter between the primary and secondary tank to prevent solids from leaching into the drain field. <br>Jason worked hard and continuously, and came in at the price I expected. Note that it's not possible to provide an exact quote on septic riser installation, since the riser height is unknown and is priced by the foot. The primary tank proved to be a little deeper than my father remembered. <br>I would have Jason work on my landscaping or other yard needs any time. He's a hardworking young man, polite and soft spoken.  <br>"

"8/30/2012 by Sherry Roberts, Port Angeles, WA Kattau Construction just completed a water damage repair caused by the hot water tank leaking into a bedroom of my mobile home. My call to Kattau was returned immediately and Scott was able to assess the situation that same afternoon, including his (very reasonable) bid. I needed to wait a bit for their availability but that waiting time was well worth it. EVERYTHING about their work was A+. This included excellent communication, materials used and labor. At the end of each day's work, the site was totally cleaned. Scott's crew is efficient, knowledgeable and works quickly. I was extremely pleased with the sub-contractor and Scott's recommendations saved me money. Any concerns or questions I had prior to and as the work progressed were answered to my satisfaction. I trust this company and each individual who worked in my home. The bedroom and hot water closet are now better constructed than when this home was new. In the future if more repairs are needed, l will call Scott first to get his opinions and bids. To every other and ldquo;Little Old Ladyand rdquo; I highly recommend this same action. In fact, my neighbor did just that. My work was completed yesterday and today the Kattau crew is working next door. I couldn't be more pleased with the entire outcome."

"My report is second hand in part, since I was not there during the time MJW met the Property Manager on the property; together they walked the fence line. MJW reported the fence was not quality built. Property Management noted that MJW did not check the post depth to determine if the post were in the ground the standard 2 feet or a minimum depth of 18inches. The bad news came later that 21 out of 60 of the post holes were barely deep enough to meet basic standards, the ground shook when you gently pushed on the post. Other factors were made know by the orginal contractor's hired help, this did not come to light until after MJW's inspection. I called MJW to explain that I needed to speak with an attorney, to find out if I am obligated to pay draws when the fence is being shoddily constructed; upon learning about this MJW decline working on the fence if I was hiring an attorney, at which time he did not want to get involved, but o\if I needed him on any other jobs please call; his decline was accepted. <br /> MJW did report that the fence was NOT quality built but that it was OK and needed a third railing to prevent the boards from bowing. He sumitted a bid to add a third railing and wanted to know what type of fence was ordered of which I reported only quality pointing out the house was custom built with landscaping maintained by a local high quality Landscaping company who maintains cutting, watering and fertilizing the yards. The property manager did the walk with MJW to get a professional inspection of the fence and place a bid to tear down what was not quality built and rebuild any part of the fence that failed inspection. MJW reported it was not a quality built fence. <br /> After MJW's inspection, the original contractor's hired help called and reported 21 post were not dug deep enough to hold the post steady thereby creating a liability of safety to the tenants. I mention to MJW, that I talked to an attorney and he did not want to get involved if I hired an attorney, this ended our contacts with him. <br />"

FAQs for interlocking pavers for patios, walks & steps installation projects in Port Angeles, WA

To calculate your paver needs:

  • Determine how many pavers cover a square foot.

  • Determine how many square feet you need.

  • Add an additional 10% to 20% for breakage and waste.

  • Consider your pavers’ sizes.

Or, you can hire a local pro who you know will get the right measurements the first time. This way, you get your weekend back instead of spending it measuring square footage.

A pallet of pavers costs $300 to $700 on average, and each pallet covers 56 square feet. The exact price depends on the type, size, and quantity of pavers you choose. Buying in bulk can sometimes offer additional savings, especially for larger projects. Ask your pro how you can save on material costs.

To get the best prices on pavers:

  • Hire a professional landscaper: Pros often receive discounts on materials, which can make hiring them more cost-effective overall.

  • Shop at local building supply stores: Check for overstock or bulk purchase deals. Bulk purchasing can be more costly up front but save you money in the long run.

  • Buy directly from manufacturers: Purchasing from a local brickyard or paver factory can offer competitive prices, especially for large quantities.

The main difference between driveway pavers and patio pavers is their load-bearing capacity. Driveway pavers are designed to withstand the weight of vehicles, whereas patio pavers aren’t suitable for such heavy loads. You can use driveway pavers for a patio, but using patio pavers for a driveway could lead to damage. Always check the weight limits of pavers and consult with a professional installer to choose the right type for your project.

Paver patios cost more than concrete patios because the materials and installation methods require advanced techniques and skilled labor. They deliver enhanced aesthetic appeal and allow for easier small‑scale repairs without affecting property taxes. The higher expense arises from premium paver materials and intricate installation processes that deliver long‑lasting durability and design flexibility. This robust solution provides notable benefits over concrete alternatives, making it a valuable investment for homeowners.
