"January 23, 2020 To Whom it May Concern: Through [*** Link removed ***] and research on the internet, in August/September of 2019 I submitted a request for work to be done at my office, the Michigan Education Association (MEA). The work included the removal of nearly 10,000 sq. ft. of wallpaper throughout the building, repairing areas of the drywall, sealing areas of the walls that the drywall paper came off along with the removal of the wallpaper, mudding the repairs, priming the walls with paint and painting all the walls in the building. Paint Doctors was awarded the job. The project took approximately three months to complete from beginning to end, starting in October of 2019 and completed at the beginning of January 2020. It was discovered during the wallpaper removal that there were as many as 3 layers of wallpaper on most of the walls in the entire building. During the project, there were areas of the work that required more work to complete and were outside the scope of the bid/quote. Rex and his team, for example, had to remove, clean up, and replace an entire wall of one of our offices where the wall was rotted and had black mold. As another example, we found, in our main conference room, damages to the drywall were extensive. Removing the 3 layers of wallpaper ripped off most, if not all, the drywall paper off the drywall resulting in the need to re-drywall the entire conference room space. We revised the work quote to adequately and fairly compensate Rex (The Paint Doctors) for the additional work outside the scope of the original bid/quote. With all this being said, Rex and his team, in my opinion, went well beyond the scope of the bid/quote. They spent more time, resources, and attention to all the areas to make sure that I was thoroughly, and completely, satisfied with the work. The scope of the project completed by Rex and his team was intense. His attention to the work, its quality, and the massive amount of cleanup afterwards, and during, was nothing less than exceptional. I wanted to provide this letter of reference to Rex/The Paint Doctors and use this as an opportunity to recommend him/The Paint Doctors for this type of work. They did a fantastic job with the project. They were friendly, approachable, and took constructive criticism of areas of need and followed up with me regarding them. His team and my office staff worked together extremely well, and collaboratively, during the timeframe of the work. In short, I highly recommend Rex/The Paint Doctors! Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns."

FAQs for small projects painting or staining projects in Port Huron, MI

You'll need about two gallons of paint to fully cover your kitchen cabinets with two coats. Since each gallon covers around 350 square feet, it's a good idea to measure your cabinets or use a paint calculator to determine exactly how much you'll need. Starting with one or two coats of primer and then applying two to three layers of paint will give you a flawless, durable finish. Using high-quality paint can reduce the number of coats needed and provide a long-lasting finish.

The best type of paint for your kitchen cabinets is latex paint because it applies evenly and creates a durable finish. If you're painting wood surfaces and need extra adhesion, acrylic paint is a great alternative. We don't recommend oil-based paint for residential use due to its VOC emissions. For finishes, go with eggshell, semi-gloss, gloss, or satin, as matte finishes aren't as durable or as easy to clean.

The best method for painting kitchen cabinets is spray painting because it gives you a smooth, even finish without brush strokes. While brushes and rollers can work, they often leave marks and require more effort. If you're aiming for a professional look, spray painting is your best bet to enhance the beauty and durability of your cabinets.
