Customers say: Quality work

"I was quite pleased how the overall job went. There is many choices when it comes to contracting a painting job for us homeowners. Many of us don't do not undertake such activities very often and as such it is easy to be mislead, over pay, or taken advantage of in some other way. After interviewing 4 painters I quickly decided upon Tom. His professionalism, attention to detail, taking the time to explain all the steps involved, and even providing some feedback on colors separated Tom from the others. His easy going attitude and sincere personality were quite refreshing and his patience at explaining things was most welcome. I expect to do a couple of more rooms in the future and will most definitely contract with Tom again."

FAQs for small projects painting or staining projects in Port Jefferson Station, NY

You'll need about two gallons of paint to fully cover your kitchen cabinets with two coats. Since each gallon covers around 350 square feet, it's a good idea to measure your cabinets or use a paint calculator to determine exactly how much you'll need. Starting with one or two coats of primer and then applying two to three layers of paint will give you a flawless, durable finish. Using high-quality paint can reduce the number of coats needed and provide a long-lasting finish.

The best type of paint for your kitchen cabinets is latex paint because it applies evenly and creates a durable finish. If you're painting wood surfaces and need extra adhesion, acrylic paint is a great alternative. We don't recommend oil-based paint for residential use due to its VOC emissions. For finishes, go with eggshell, semi-gloss, gloss, or satin, as matte finishes aren't as durable or as easy to clean.

The best method for painting kitchen cabinets is spray painting because it gives you a smooth, even finish without brush strokes. While brushes and rollers can work, they often leave marks and require more effort. If you're aiming for a professional look, spray painting is your best bet to enhance the beauty and durability of your cabinets.
