"Rep. checked entire system. He found several wires not connected properly and fixed this. He also made recommendations regarding the attachment of the panels to the rood that would provide more stability and leakproofing. The representative appeared to know what he was doing - much better than others, including the representative who was engaged by the roofer (who replaced our rood due to hail damage) to disconnect/connect the panels."

  • The workmen, Josh and Daryl, arrived a few minutes early, introduced themselves, looked at the project, explained what they were going to do and got to work.  They worked hard and didn't waste time.  These steps were wedged between the sprinkler system in flower beds on both sides.  They were careful not to damage the pipes or the sprinkler heads.  Apparently, when the steps were originally built, the upper steps and the lower landing were poured at angles opposite to each other.  However, these guys did a great job finding a good balance between the two.  To stabilize the steps, holes were drilled and "polylevel" pumped in.  To finish the job, the guys patched the holes, cut off the overflow of the "polylevel" after it hardened, sealed and caulked the seam between the steps and the foundation,  and cleaned up everything else.  I can't even imagine a better job.  To top it off, Josh and Daryl were the nicest people to work with.  Ben Blakey the salesman did a great job explaining everything and Monica, the office manager did a great job with scheduling and keeping me informed.  Josh, Daryl, Ben and Monica were all very prompt, reliable, professional and friendly.  What a great group to work with!!!  I wish all companies were run like this!

"We had the pleasure to work with Ybarra Professional Builders on back to back projects in our home. Both came out better than we could have envisioned! Our first project was our hallway bathroom. Our project manager Ryan was always on top of things and very attentive to detail. He was always in communication with us and very responsive. The work crew was professional and courteous at all times. They completed the project in the timeframe we discussed and were so very pleased with the final product. Because we were so pleased with the bathroom remodel, we asked Ryan to help us with a kitchen remodel. This was a much bigger project and had more details in scope. I am happy to say Ryan and his team maintained the same quality, service and attention to detail as mentioned previously. Pretty impressive as this was a much larger project. We would recommend Ybarra to looking for their next home project. A special thank you to Robert and Isaac from the work crew."

FAQs for wood shake or composite roofing installation and replacement projects in Port Lavaca, TX

Cedar shakes and wood shingles might seem similar, but they have some important differences. Cedar shakes are hand-split, giving them a unique, textured appearance that adds rustic charm to your roof. They're great for homeowners who want a distinctive look. Wood shingles, conversely, are machine-made, providing a smooth, uniform appearance for a more modern look. Shakes tend to be more expensive due to the craftsmanship involved but offer exceptional beauty and resilience.

A well-maintained cedar shake roof can last up to 60 years. However, factors like severe weather and improper ventilation can reduce its lifespan. You should consider replacing your roof if you notice persistent leaks, visible water damage, curling or splitting shakes, moss growth, rot, or missing shakes. Regular inspections can help you determine when it's time for a replacement.

When hiring a roofing contractor for your cedar shake roof, asking the right questions is important. Make sure they are fully certified and have extensive experience with cedar installations. Verify that their team is licensed, bonded, and insured. Ask for details about the materials they use, such as the type of underlayment and fasteners, and how they ensure proper ventilation. Getting multiple written estimates can help you compare options and choose a contractor who offers quality workmanship at a fair price.
