"I had three different chimney companies come out for estimates, including Bricks. Bricks was the only one that bothered to actually thoroughly inspect my two fireplaces and wide chimney, discovering that one of my dampers was broken and more. The whole chimney needed to be stuccoed because the veneer stone on it was falling apart, and previous owners had covered a lot of it (foolishly) in roof tar. Bricks was the only company that thoroughly explained everything wrong, without using scare tactics. They were nice and patient, and I’m confident if anything goes wrong with the repair, they’d come out to fix it. It was a pricey job, but doing things right is often pricey. Worth it, though."

"I don’t know how they could get much better than Denis and his company Philadelphia Brick and Stone Pointing. We did a LOT of research and got a number of estimates before deciding to hire Denis. We could not be more pleased with that decision. "Initial estimate was 5-8 days, but we were going in blind because the siding was not yet removed. After removal, we discovered all the remaining issues. The estimate went up as we made change orders but all the estimates were reasonable. The time eventually extended to about 3 weeks but the amount of work was definitely high. The guys made sure to clean up the rubble and messes they made every day. While having the paint stripper in the front was inconvenient, Pat stayed late to clean up and make sure we were able to get in and out of the house no problem. The pointing job looked great, and all cracked and broken bricks were repaired well. We have gotten a lot of compliments from neighbors about how much better the house looks now. Pat and Ryan are great masons and will do everything relating to masonry and stone. They are very straightforward about not doing carpentry or electrical systems, so if that's a part of the job, they can either recommend someone to help out, or you should make sure to handle it yourself. Communication with Pat is very fast and very clear. He will explain the details of the job to you very carefully, and will also provide careful records of invoices and payments. They are also very accommodating of various needs like access to the house, neighborhood requirements, etc."
