"If you are in the market for windows and doors, give Mitch and Matt a call. They are genuinely good people. There's a strong quality to value ratio with Elevate. We are pleased with the results. I recommend taking time to be specific in details like fixtures/doorknobs included. Some of this was overlooked on our part and there was some back and forth resolving. Matt was great to work on this and throughout. Brent and the work crew were great as well. Clean up could have been tidier in some instances, but again anything that was mentioned was addressed. I would gladly work with Elevate again - recommend."

"I want to give Better Homes the highest review possible. Their work is excellent, they are very professional and their prices are quite reasonable. We first used them a few years ago to side our 100-year-old home. They removed the original siding, made repairs to the sheathing of the home, as needed, then wrapped the house with a hydro-wrap, that would ensure that if water ever did get behind the siding at some future time, it would just shed from the house. They used Hardi plank siding and matched the reveal and surface to match the original siding. They replaced all window trim (why not since all the siding is replaced?) and matched the original design. They discovered that the corbels (knee brackets) that stuck out from the house at the roof were rotted, so we replaced all of them. They only use Benjamin Moore paint, which they have found lasts longest. Our house was sided by them 3 years ago and the paint, including on the south facing side, looks as good as the day they painted"

"We had a huge project including residing, decking, railing, a deck cover, and whole house paint. Superior Home took on the work and delivered phenomenal results, we could not be happier. Ismael is an incredible craftsman, very intuitive to our vision with an eye for detail. The ideas we communicated to him were not only executed but consistently improved upon as he brought his experience to the table. His team was great, very friendly, and they worked hard and fast. Each day before they left, they would stack material and clean the job site leaving our yard free of debris which made the remodeling process a lot less invasive to everyday life. Upon completion, we spent a weekend absorbing the beautiful work of Ismael, and came up with our punch list: Absolutely nothing! Superior Homemade our project was a pleasure. I highly recommended them."

"Pedro and his crew were prompt, easy to work with, and completed a small but labor intensive cedar sidewall shingle installation. Two other ANGI recommended contractors didn't want to be bothered with this small two-day job, but were more than willing to bid on other on-site work that I wasn't requesting. I would hire Campos Construction again if and when the need arises. WILL REDO THIS REVIEW AFTER A NUMBER OF ISSUES WITH THE INSTALLATION ARE CORRECTED OR DEALT WITH. COULD NOT SEE THEM UNTIL THE FOLLOWING DAY IN THE DAYLIGHT."

FAQs for metal awning or patio cover installation and replacement projects in Portland, OR

Yes, you can paint your metal awning using oil-based paints to give it a fresh new look and protect it from corrosion. Oil-based paints are durable and help preserve the awning's structural integrity. Keep in mind that painting an aluminum awning costs $2.50 to $3.50 per square foot. Be sure to hire a painter who specializes in awning painting to get the best results.

Metal awnings are incredibly durable and offer excellent protection against the elements for your home. They resist sun, rain, and snow, keeping your space safe and comfortable. Stainless steel and copper awnings provide outstanding longevity and structural integrity, while aluminum awnings are more affordable without sacrificing performance. Plus, their sturdy construction can improve energy efficiency and boost your home's curb appeal.

While metal awnings are durable, they can be more expensive than other types, so they might not be ideal if you're on a tight budget. They also offer fewer customization options compared to fabric awnings, so you might have limited choices in style or color. Additionally, metal awnings are fixed in place and harder to adjust, so you won't be able to raise or lower them easily based on the weather.

Yes, metal awnings can increase your home's value by enhancing its curb appeal and providing more usable outdoor space. Their sturdy design not only improves the look of your home but can also contribute to energy savings. If you opt for motorized awnings, they add a touch of sophistication that can be especially appealing to potential buyers when you're ready to sell.

Metal awnings can last 20 to 30 years with proper maintenance. To keep them in good shape, regularly clean them with a vinegar and water solution a few times each season to prevent buildup and corrosion. If your awning has electronic components, be sure to service them routinely. Taking care of any damage promptly will help your awning perform its best and extend its lifespan.
