"Handyman for Hire did a fantastic job on turning a sunroom into a master closet/dressing room for me. They had to remove and replace windows, close in one side wall and install floor to ceiling wardrobes. The team that worked at my house were knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. I have already gotten a quote from them for the next project on my list. I am beyond happy and pleased with the work they did!!"

"Jim, the sales representative, came and inspected tour roof.  He said we had hail damage and could make an insurance claim.  The he offered to come back and meet with the insurance adjuster when he came to do his appraisal.  Jim brought us roof tile samples so we could choose a color.  Then they gave us addresses where specific roof colors had been installed so we could see what that color looked like on a whole roof.  He stayed in touch with us every step of the way.  They didn't ask for any money until the shingles were delivered, and as it turned out they began tearing the old shingles off that very day.  It was all done in 1 1/2 days.  The roofers cleaned up after themselves very well.  They missed putting a rain guard above the air conditioning unit, but when Jim came to do the walk through inspection with my husband and was told that, he got the roofers back right away to install the rain guard.  We couldn't have had any better customer service and we are totally satisfied with the whole job.  Jim will take care of you in every detail. <br />"

"BLUF: I highly recommend Blue Tide Exteriors Details: I was originally hesitant to contact this company based on some less than favorable reviews. However, knowing that some individual's expectations can be... unreasonable, we contacted Blue Tide Exteriors for our relatively simple job to have a cover constructed over our flagstone patio. Blue Tide Exteriors was prompt with responding, gave us an excellent walkthrough of our options and what to expect, and was upfront with pricing and timelines. We couldn't be happier with their recommendations and the final product exceeds our expectations. As an example of their quality, the workers from Blue Tide took the dug out dirt from our footers and filled in some noticeable depressions in our backyard, rather than just putting the excess dirt in a corner. These details, as well as the overall professionalism of Blue Tide, is why I recommend them without hesitation, and I intend to use them again for any exterior work. Please don't let the negative reviews sway you, this company is professional and delivers quality results at a very reasonable price."

"Triple P is a professional company in all aspects of their work.  They inspected our roof thoroughly, gave us an estimate, and did not pressure us to make a decision.  Once we contracted with them to replace our roof they scheduled the job and kept to their schedule (although there was a mix-up on when the materials would be delivered-- nothing serious).  They showed up about 7:30 am and finished the entire job by 6:30 pm.  They cleaned up everything, leaving our yard and deck cleaner than they had been before the job.  A new roof job just doesn't have the cache of a new kitchen or bath remodel, but Triple P did such a nice job and gave us such a stress-free experience that we were actually excited about the new roof.  It looks great! <br />"

"Our "only" negative comment about Ground Zero Shelters is that they do not come to a persons residence to give the sales pitch and demonstration. You must go to their showroom or see their product at a home show. This being said, we were extremely happy with the sales experience, reminders and installation of our shelter. They called about 10 days prior to the installation for a reminder, their installers called the day before and the morning of the installation to remind us that they would be at our home at the designated time. They showed up as promised and were completed with the installation in less than 1 1/2 hours time! Thank you Ground Zero!"

"Mr. Webb came out to my home and looked at my roof to determine the reasoning for replacement. He suggested  I contact my insurance company as he believed it would fall under my homeowners insurance. He was at my home during the insurance inspection and we scheduled a date for repair upon approval of insurance company. Within a week he had his crew at my home and was able to replace the roof in one day. After the work was complete the crew cleaned up all the mess around the house and used a magnet for nails. Mr. Webb is a professional guy and his guys did quality work. <br />"

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Princeton, LA

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
