"I was in emergency need of replacing a timber egress window well and an adjacent paver patio that chipmunks had tunneled into and destroyed. I needed it replaced before it caved into the basement window and now was the time. Secondly, I hoped for finding someone who could install a concrete pad attached to my garage’s slab for a future 3-season screened porch. I was having a struggle finding anyone for either. Patio installers didn’t want to take on replacing an egress window well. Concrete people said they were not comfortable drilling rebar into a 75-year-old garage slab. Greg was able to do all of this! His crew was able to relocate a large stone step used in the old patio and integrate it into a new extension of the newpatio. Greg’s crew was able to masterfully cut the replacement pavers tightly around the existing pergola posts, I was really impressed! The concrete slab was poured within the frame of an existing low-height retaining wall, but the edges were dug out deep enough below the ground for structural support of the future 3-season porch. We needed a railing around the egress well, and while such work is outside the scope of what he would do, Greg referred us to a metal smith who built for us a new railing and metal ladder into the well."

They were able to complete the job about a week prior to what they'd estimated, they arrived when they said they would, and completed the job within the time they said. "If you are looking for paver patios, the installers are great. They did a very nice job, and were professional throughout. They would clean up every day before leaving, addressed any questions we had timely and we are very satisfied with the results. We also added a gazebo to our patio design. It was very clear that gazebo's are not one of their strengths. We encountered many issues with the design and build of the gazebo long before construction began. We had hired Josh in October to complete all elements of the landscaping project the following spring. Over the winter months, we had asked on many occasions for catalog photos, or anything that would confirm what the finished gazebo was going to look like. The pictures were never sent and the only indication of what it might look like came just a few days before the project began and was a very small (1x1) black and white picture. Our expectation of the gazebo was that the material used would be cedar. We had asked for glass windows that could be closed during the cooler and winter months. We were assured on many occasions that cedar material and glass windows were what we were going to get. As they were starting to build the gazebo, the material was not cedar, rather it was pressed wood. As the windows were installed, they were not glass (despite being told that very day they were glass), instead they were a plastic film over the screens. We were left in a very difficult position where we were essentially forced to concede on both elements. While the gazebo is functional, and will suit our needs, had Josh sent just ONE picture sometime in the 5 months or so prior the project start, we may have been able to make a different decision. Related, and something else to be aware of. When trying to reach Josh about start dates, etc I would say he was not always as responsive as I would have expected. Furthermore, there were multiple instances where what was promised was not delivered. Again, if you are looking at a paver or patio project - these guys are great and I would recommend their workmanship. However beware of anything more than that."

"Went very well. Can't say enough. We had 3 different landscaping companies come in for an initial estimate. We were doing a full lot project and while we had an idea of what we wanted to do, we needed some suggestions and direction on what to do and how to approach. Andy and Jessie listened to what we were looking for and came up with some very concise ideas around what would work and fit our needs. Other companies who came in were frankly all over the place and really didn't seem to listen to what we were looking for. They were unorganized and weren't nearly as concise around what sort of vision they might have for our project. We went ahead and paid Beds and Borders to put together a design for us so we could visualize on paper. They put together a great design/blueprint that we used to make the final decision to go ahead with the project. This included pictures of the plants and trees they were suggesting. A huge help. We replaced our entire front yard with new sod, landscaped a small area by our front entry, landscaped an area by a deck in the back yard. Planted 15 new trees (about 6') for privacy in the back yard and planted 10 arborvitae for privacy in our front yard. Also tore out a small mulched area and seeding with grass. Crew was very much on time, on schedule, and made quick work of the project (barely 4 days). They took great care to minimize any damage to existing lawn, clean everything up at the end of the day, and were super courteous with the way they worked, even making sure not to block the garage/driveway with equipment, etc. We've had plenty of work done around our home and very much appreciate that kind of courteous work- something that's not really expected. Everything looks incredible and will really give us the privacy and outdoor space we're looking for as time goes on. Andy is very knowledgable, is super prompt answering any questions and returning calls/emails, and it's evident he and the rest of the crew have passion for what they do. Would definitely recommend hiring them for any project. Large or small. Only B (Good) rating above is for price. This only reflects they weren't the cheapest. Want to be clear- Cost of our project was very fair, not exorbitant. We would do project with them again and will hire them again in the future. Quality of their work well worth the money."

"<p>We had previously worked with Chris and his crew on replacement of a failing timber retaining wall with a contoured block version. That earlier work involved demolition and removal of treated posts and lumber while extending a pre-existing section using an Anchor block product. The segmented, angular wall was replaced by a contoured design that provided more room for a prized shade tree. During this initial, 2012 phase, we found Chris very easy to work with. He was receptive to our concepts and offered constructive comments- we didn't want a deferential contractor that would let us make bad choices. Chris speaks up in a respectful way. The crew happily worked with street pavers that were on-site. <br /> That earlier work turned out so nicely that we resolved to continue the project the in 2013 as our vision for completion firmed up. There are obvious advantages to completing the entire job at once, but even using design software, it is difficult to feature how it will all turn out. Change orders and call-backs are no fun for anyone. For us, it worked to live with an incomplete project for a few seasons to really know what we wanted.<br />  <br /> The 2013 work would involve constructing low planters in both the front and back yards, extending the patio work in the back yard, adding edgers and completing sod work. Chris returned with the same crew (a plus for us) and was rarely not on site himself during either project. This work was complicated by an impending family reunion. To avoid damaging existing landscaping, most of this second phase was completed with wheelbarrows and hand tools.  Once again, there were design and material selection considerations as well as technical issues, including rainwater management.  There was no objection to the owners contributing labor. In turn, we tried to stay ahead of the crew or out of the way.</p> <br /> The entire project is now complete- we are delighted and have received nothing but compliments. <br /> <br />"
