"Excellent job - well done. They are very professional. When they painted the ceilings they covered the walls to prevent paint splatter. They paid attention to the smallest detail. Will hire again."

"Kingdom contractor is a very reliable and well run organization, with impeccable integrity. They are punctual, and get the work done! One of their key strengths is the flexibility in the extent of the project, as well as ability to work in multiple areas of new and existing construction. I have worked with the owner over many years in both home and business construction, and find him to be extremely fair in his pricing."

"Dustin responded to a request for an estimate to paint our 1800's era home. It is a 2000sq ft two story frame house with a large amount of fretwork and decorative cornices. We had contacted other painters but they were not willing to take on the challenge of a house as old as ours because of the possibility of lead contamination, even though my husband had removed all of the original paint down to the wood siding years before when he had painted it himself. Dustin examined the house, took some paint samples and then gave us what was a very reasonable estimate (the price and work date listed above is from memory--I think it is correct). He and his brother showed up exactly on the date and at the time they had promised and prepped the house for painting. They repaired areas that had siding damage and replaced some window trim that had rotted. They then scraped all loose paint areas and primed the house for the finish coat. They sprayed the large flat areas of the house, then meticulously painted the cornices and trim by hand (very high and very small pieces of individual pieces of wood trim ). They did a beautiful job of finishing our house using three different paint colors. They completed the entire job in two weeks, and they were a pleasure to work with (even being kind when a pair of stray kittens decided to make their trailer a "kitten house"). It has been two years since the painting job was completed and our home still looks like it was painted yesterday. We received an enormous number of compliments on the appearance of the house, ie.--"your house is the most beautiful on the street"--when Long Creative Painting completed our house painting job. We continue to receive compliments today. We highly recommend their services and will call them again whenever we have painting needs. <br />"

"The handyman Les was personable and friendly  but he erred in following a couple of the directions.  Also he was an exceedingly slow worker.  I trusted him to do the job right in a timely manner.  It  certainly didn't 'go down' that way.  We both failed to watch the installation DVD.  Instead he studied the instruction manual and did what it said (I hope), in such a slow manner that he ran the clock out to four hours.  After his departure, over the following two days,  I read the instruction manual (to have a better idea of the unit's operation)  and also viewed the DVD.  There is <strong>no way</strong> this project should have taken four hours!  More like two hours, maybe three, max,  if unfamiliar with the brand and product.  I <strong>sorely regret</strong> that I did not 'ride herd' on him and help him and push him along.  I should have watched him and the clock like a hawk.  Furthermore,  I should have told him at the beginning that I am with Angie's list and that I wanted the project done in less than three hours.  (Oh, hindsight is 20/20.)   <br />  I  have felt mental and emotional anguish over this experience  for 48 hours afterwards.  I 'm writing this report for the sake of some kind of closure. <br /> This is the first and last time I will use this particular company.  I will not  recommend him to anyone. <br /> <br /> <strong><em>UPDATE:</em></strong>  He addressed my concerns and issues and reached an amicable resolution.  Involved with that was making restiution with regard to what I considered an overcharge by giving me a refund.  I have changed the letter grades as a result of our resolution. <br /> <br />  "

"Very happy with the work done by JT Painting at our house in Oswego. Dave is a super nice guy, and his crew is very professional and courteous. We had our entire first floor, two-story foyer, and upstairs hallways re-painted, and all of our wood trim and casings painted white. It was a huge job and they finished as promised in one week. All of the workers were friendly and respectful of our space, working around my kids and me as we tried to stay out of their way. Always double checking to make sure things were going well. Sarah, in particular, was awesome! Highly recommend JT Painting! Thanks for a job well done! --Jennifer Shaw"

FAQs for exterior home or structure paint or stain projects in Quincy, IL

Painting vinyl siding is a budget-friendly way to revive curb appeal without paying for new panels. As long as the boards aren’t warped, cracked, or leaking, a coat of high-quality acrylic paint can buy you another five to 10 years before replacement.

Stick to lighter shades so the siding doesn’t soak up excess heat, and prep the surface well for the paint to bond. If you’re seeing rot or moisture damage, skip the paint and plan for new siding instead.

High-quality acrylic paint is recommended for vinyl siding. Acrylic paint adheres firmly to vinyl surfaces and resists peeling and fading, providing a sleek and long-lasting finish. Ensure the siding is thoroughly cleaned and prepared for optimal results. Your exterior painting pro has the expertise to properly prepare your siding’s surface to ensure proper adhesion.

Priming is not required if the vinyl siding remains in good condition and is properly cleaned. However, if the original color is severely faded or the panels have become porous, priming becomes essential. Priming provides a smooth, even base that improves paint adhesion and enhances durability, ensuring the acrylic finish adheres properly and lasts longer.

A paint sprayer is the quickest, most consistent way to coat vinyl siding. The fine mist reaches grooves a roller can miss and lays down an even layer in a fraction of the time. You’ll still need a brush for tight corners, but a sprayer slashes labor hours and reduces lap marks.

If you’re renting equipment, ask the supplier for a tip size made for exterior acrylics so the paint atomizes correctly and sticks to the siding.

Painted vinyl siding lasts between five and 10 years. The durability depends on the quality of the surface preparation and the local climate conditions. When the siding is thoroughly cleaned and prepped, and high-quality acrylic paint is used, the finish endures longer. In hotter regions, the lifespan may be closer to five years, while cooler climates help extend it.
