"Pavers Arts, LLC provided outstanding customer service and craftsmanship. The project centered on replacing a wooden deck with paver deck as seen in the photos. Israel made me feel like my project was super important and it was obvious he takes pride in his work. He had suggestions along the way and I could tell he had a keen eye for aesthetics. To complete the project I plan to hire them to re-sod my front lawn and install a storm drain system. I strongly recommend Pavers Arts for your next project. "

"We hired System Pavers to install a new outdoor patio in our backyard. Austin was amazing! He was very attentive to what we wanted and worked with us to project end and made sure we got exactly what we wanted. I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking for a new outdoor patio."

"My home had two pathways on the north and south sides of our house that we had put in ourselves. The north pathway (rock & cement) was very uneven and moss had made it slick over time. The south pathway was a gravel path with circular cement steppingstones where the stones had shifted position over time. There was also a cement slab off the driveway leading to the gravel path. Both the north and south pathways were uneven to walk on or move anything across its surface. After 29 years, it was time to replace both pathways. I happened to encounter System Pavers at the Portland Outdoor Living Show and contacted them. Design consultant, Lidiana, kept her appointment promptly, she was friendly, and provided good selection choices, lots of examples, and brochures on how I could redesign the pathways. I liked the fact that System Pavers seemed very professional, reliable, and willing to guarantee their work and paving projects. Therefore, I proceeded with signing up for the pathways to be replaced by System Pavers. It was about a week or so later that the project manager, Matt, came out to assess and verify the plans and measurements initially done by Lidiana. I encountered delays in scheduling (a week later from what was originally scheduled) so I had to reschedule all my appointments in order to clear my schedule so I could be available for the crew while the construction was in progress. I wanted to be on-site at home in case there were any questions. The materials for the job were delivered on a Wednesday to my driveway, several days in advance of the work starting, and I was concerned about the materials (i.e. theft concern) since the crew didn’t start until the following Monday. Once the entire project was completed, there were about 2-1/2 pallets of materials leftover that the crew advised were going to the “dump” and I was asked if I wanted any of the leftover material. For this reason, I question why too much material was ordered considering both the design consultant and project manager took measurements of the existing pathways before ordering the materials for the pathways project. I was NOT credited for the excess materials. Which is why I am giving a rating of 4 not 5 stars. The 3-man System Pavers crew started on a Monday and took a week to complete both pathways by the end of the week on Friday. The crew’s start times varied at the start of the week but by mid-week they started about 8am. The crew worked very hard and even worked in the pouring rain on one of the days. From lifting and removing the old steppingstones & gravel, using a jack hammer to remove the old concrete and rock path, removing the dirt & gravel, etc.; the crew did a great job of tearing up and removing the old paths. Then the 3-man crew worked tirelessly to install the layers (gravel, cement, mesh, bricks, polymer sand, etc.) to build both north and south pathways. The crew tried their best to clean up the rocks, dirt, and debris on my driveway as best as they could. Herman even did a great job in moving two of the sprinkler heads so they would be out of the pathway to make for a more aesthetic appearance. I appreciate the crew answering my questions (i.e. Rodger) and being very accommodating to my requests while the work was in progress. Project Manager, Matt L. was very professional. He ensured that the crew did not disrupt or cut any underground cables nor damage sprinklers in place. It gave me peace of mind knowing he was on top of that. He responded to my “text” questions promptly every step of the project. I’m ecstatic about the look of the new pathways… they both look fantastic!! The new pathways really improve the look of the yard. What a relief too, to finally be able to walk on an “even” path. I’m so glad I had System Pavers replace the pathways. Overall, I’m very pleased with the new pathways and the quality of their work. I would recommend System Pavers for their paving work."

"I got three bids for the work. Affordable Asphalt Maintenance was substantially cheaper than the other two, which the owner explained was possible because he is a small operator doing his own work and happy to have smaller jobs. He scheduled me at a convenient time and arrived on time. I was a bit surprised to learn that repairing cracks does not include patching small holes and divots. I was told that doing this with the crack repair machine would not durably repair the divots but would leave the driveway looking as though it had the measles. I accepted the explanation. They did leave a bucket of sealant for me to apply additional coats to the deeper divots. This turned out to be very easy and did help. The original bid was for two coats of sealant but I agreed to one coat with a price adjustment when the owner said he thought one coat would be sufficient (he was perfectly willing to apply a second coat for the original price had I wanted it). <br /> Overall I was extremely satisfied with the experience and believe I got excellent value for the price paid. Perhaps one of the much more expensive bids would have provided marginally better quality but I am quite sure not enough to justify the price difference. <br />"

"Vasiliy is an amazingly talented craftsman with many talents and years of experience. Our nearly 100 year old deteriorating brick chimney was leaking water into the interior of the house and had to be repaired. Vasiliy came highly recommended to me by one of the best contractors in Portland, and I called upon him to fix it. The chimney was red brick, but Vasiliy suggested a lighter, golden color brick as it was more economical. Since our house is yellow, the golden color looked even better than red brick would have, and I saved money. The chimney is beautiful, and the repair/rebuild was so well done that Ithink it will last another 100 years,"

"Recently we had All Natures Construction landscape our property. We chose All Nature’s Construction because Elmer had done work for us several years ago and we were delighted with his work. This experience was no different. We spoke to Elmer about what we envisioned and how we would like to use the space. We wanted to reclaim some property, which would require a retaining wall. He was able to put together a proposal that was perfect for our needs and worked with us to make the plan a reality. Elmer is extremely knowledgeable concerning all aspects of landscape design. Our project was a large one. Elmer engineered a functional and pleasing retainment wall that increased our usable yard by double in addition to building a beautiful patio area and fire pit area. All the construction required a dry well as well excavation and irrigation. He was able to give us great ideas for fencing that would allow for a view but still give us the privacy we wanted. He made suggestions for where we could save money while still getting a beautiful space. Elmer is just terrific to work with and his work is outstanding. He turned a dumpy and undesirable yard into a showplace. If you are in need of a great landscaper with wonderful ideas and craftsmanship you can’t go wrong with Elmer at All Nature’s Construction."

"We have been working with Drake's 7 Dee's Landscaping since late last summer (2013), when we requested an assessment on our backyard that is not only large and awkward shaped, but also is very steep - there were no plants to speak of on the property - mainly just a lot of slippery mud.  Drew gave us his assessment during our first visit right on the spot, but he then, with our permission, he provided us with a landscaping plan along with a survey assessment of the grade (small fee).  Then, this spring (2014), we gave the go ahead for them to proceed.  Drew worked with us to make sure to work with our desired outcome within the design, including my favorite plants and helped us to select the retaining wall and patio materials. <br /> The project was expected to take 6-8 weeks, and they are right on schedule.  I expect them to be finishing up this week!  The 4 man crew has been extremely professional, conscious of us and the neighbors, and willing to work with us on any modifications.  They have been at the job site around 8am M-F and usually leave around 3:30 or so.  All the crew members work extremely hard - I never once saw them doing anything but working hard.  And they clean up after themselves ... all the tools/equipment put away, excess dirt cleaned up out of the driveway and street as needed, and no garbage is left behind -every single day.  The crew is knowledgeable and willing to answer our questions and offer us any options they might see. <br /> Drew checked in with us and with his crew frequently to make certain everything was staying on track.  There was a level of comfort with this large project that I didn't expect.  We definitely are pleased with the quality of the final product, and with the level of professionalism and expertise that they have provided through this process.  We now have a fully landscaped yard with the entire property being usable and beautiful - friendly to birds, bees, backyard critters, and of course people too!  We are already enjoying. <br /> Thank you, Drew, Enrique, and your crew!  We appreciate it! <br />"

"Stan from Stone Design was prompt providing an estimate and very personable. He understood what we wanted and asked all the right questions. The stone masons came on time and were very diligent in getting the work done and paying attention to detail. The chimney looks amazing and it adds to much to the overall look of the house! The workers were very courteous, good about cleaning up and checking in with me before they left. We are very very satisfied with the work and wouldn't hesitate to call them in the future for other projects. <br />"

FAQs for interlocking pavers for patios, walks & steps installation projects in Rainier, OR

To calculate your paver needs:

  • Determine how many pavers cover a square foot.

  • Determine how many square feet you need.

  • Add an additional 10% to 20% for breakage and waste.

  • Consider your pavers’ sizes.

Or, you can hire a local pro who you know will get the right measurements the first time. This way, you get your weekend back instead of spending it measuring square footage.

A pallet of pavers costs $300 to $700 on average, and each pallet covers 56 square feet. The exact price depends on the type, size, and quantity of pavers you choose. Buying in bulk can sometimes offer additional savings, especially for larger projects. Ask your pro how you can save on material costs.

To get the best prices on pavers:

  • Hire a professional landscaper: Pros often receive discounts on materials, which can make hiring them more cost-effective overall.

  • Shop at local building supply stores: Check for overstock or bulk purchase deals. Bulk purchasing can be more costly up front but save you money in the long run.

  • Buy directly from manufacturers: Purchasing from a local brickyard or paver factory can offer competitive prices, especially for large quantities.

The main difference between driveway pavers and patio pavers is their load-bearing capacity. Driveway pavers are designed to withstand the weight of vehicles, whereas patio pavers aren’t suitable for such heavy loads. You can use driveway pavers for a patio, but using patio pavers for a driveway could lead to damage. Always check the weight limits of pavers and consult with a professional installer to choose the right type for your project.

Paver patios cost more than concrete patios because the materials and installation methods require advanced techniques and skilled labor. They deliver enhanced aesthetic appeal and allow for easier small‑scale repairs without affecting property taxes. The higher expense arises from premium paver materials and intricate installation processes that deliver long‑lasting durability and design flexibility. This robust solution provides notable benefits over concrete alternatives, making it a valuable investment for homeowners.
