"From start to finish, everything was great. I was concerned with a couple of reviews but was easily comforted once the process started. Austin, the owner, was very professional. The crew took time cover my flower beds and clean up after the roof was installed. Soon after the installation, a storm come through and I called Austin with concerns. He had no problems sending someone out to make sure everything held up properly. I will not hesitate to recommend QE Restoration. They are A+ in my book."

"He gave me my estimate early and I was waiting on insurance adjustor that kept putting me off. Jared kept checking with me every week. It took 8 weeks for the adjustor to come. Jared waited patiently. He started immediately after I was cleared to go. It took them one week. I was away from home for a few days and when I returned home the new roof was done and the yard was cleaned of all debris."

"Our "only" negative comment about Ground Zero Shelters is that they do not come to a persons residence to give the sales pitch and demonstration. You must go to their showroom or see their product at a home show. This being said, we were extremely happy with the sales experience, reminders and installation of our shelter. They called about 10 days prior to the installation for a reminder, their installers called the day before and the morning of the installation to remind us that they would be at our home at the designated time. They showed up as promised and were completed with the installation in less than 1 1/2 hours time! Thank you Ground Zero!"

"Ernie Haas provided a very thorough examination of our roof which enabled us (after much back and forth with our roofer (DCF Contracting)) to ensure that all necessary and required repairs were made to our roof. Mr. Haas stayed in contact with us for more than a month to ensure that any questions or issues we had were addressed."

"Mr. Douglas did an excellent job (as always). I have a new metal roof and it was done in a very professional and timely manner. Mr. Douglas is very particular that any job he is doing or overseeing is done to his standards (and he is a perfectionist). You will get quick response, good work and will be well informed at every step of the job. I have relied on Mr. Douglas for windows, siding and roof and have been very pleased on every project."

"Mike's team (3 different crews) were all great to work with and once the job got underway they passed the phases of the work off logically and fairly seamlessly. This was a kitchen job so my wife made most of the decisions and in her words, "I'd recommend these guys to anyone!" Cleanup was good and all niggly little details I'd requested were handled within the quoted price. The 600 overrun was all on us- tile and mosaic strip choices plus a new sink and disposal while all was torn out anyhow. It is a great looking job we're really pleased with! l <br />"

"<p>Job was done on the date promised, in the time span estimated and at the price quoted. The two man team properly braced the porch roof before tearing the old column out. They built the new column on site. The team removed all tear down debris as well as the trash from the construction phase (a really big plus in my book since I have had other contractors leave their trash for me to clean up.) The contractor asked for a deposit before they began and the balance after the work was completed. I marked them down on punctuality since they told me that they would be here at 9:00 but it was 90 minutes later before they arrived and another 30 minutes before they started work. As I said above, the work completion was promised for the end of the day and they met that. </p> <br />"

"We needed our roof repaired after wind damage and after reading multiple customer referrals, we decided to go with Hart Family construction and we couldn't be happier!!! We've had horrible experiences in the past with contractors for other projects on our home, so we were very nervous about finding a contractor for our roof. Not only did he and his crew do an excellent job with our roof but they were very respectful of our home and property.  They cleaned up our yard and even picked up garbage and debris that they didn't have anything to do with. Wow!!!!  <br /> <br /> We learned the hard way what to look for in a contractor and Todd Hart met every positive criteria on our checklist. He’s fully licensed & insured; guarantees his work with a 5 year workmanship warranty; provides a written contract; has years of experience;  has a slew of happy customers (including us now!!);  is honest, dependable, friendly and extremely patient. I drilled him with questions on our first meeting and he patiently answered every one.  I even tried to stump him because I knew what to look for from past bad experiences, and he passed every single test with flying colors.  His prices where not the lowest that we received from all the bids, but they were certainly fair. We made the mistake of going with the lowest bidder before on another home project and we definitely got what we paid for and boy did we pay for it! (Lessons learned).  <br /> <br /> He made the entire process extremely easy. He worked directly with our insurance adjuster and our claim was approved! Whoo hoo! Todd knows what to look for during his inspections that others could have easily missed.  <br /> <br /> So, as you can see, we highly recommend Hart Family Construction.  If you want the peace of mind that you’ll get quality workmanship, fair prices and guaranteed work, contact Hart Family Construction for all your home repair/remodeling and roofing needs. You will not be sorry.  We’re recommending them to all our friend and family!"

"They removed old, wood siding and rain gutter system. After removal of old materials they installed new vinyl siding and rain gutter system.  After completion of the job there were nine discrepancies which needed to be corrected.  Of the nine, two were never correctly corrected and were finally accepted with some attempt at fixing.  I would recommend that anyone doing business with this company get a written contact citing exactly what materials are to be used, what is to be done and the cost.  Inferior materials were used in my rain gutter system with the assurance that the painted over material would last for years.  The paint started peeling within less than a year.  Several requests were made for corrective action with no response.  A serious problem which if uncorrected would have destroyed the siding around the garage door was discovered and the company notified immediately. The company did not respond to even look at the problem.  After three days I had the problem corrected.  During the sales pitch it was indicated that they would stand behind their product and workmanship.  Again, get this in writing."

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Raleigh, MS

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
