"I was very pleased on all interactions and work performed by A Plus Roofing. They were flexible and responsive through the whole process and gave me a fair deal. Despite trying to contact many roofers who were not available or reliable, I read the Angi reviews and called A Plus. I read Eric from A Plus was the only roofer who actually went on the roof to estimate which I know from experience set them apart from the others that had come to quote me. Eric did just that. He went on the roof and quoted me only for what needed to be replaced (an area of shingles) but also assessed the rest of the roof. He didn't try to sell me a new roof. Also, kudos to Vincenza from the office who regularly reached out and organized appts that worked around the icy weather and our availability. The on site team was competent, efficient, tidy and quick. Highly recommend A Plus (and we're formerly in the construction business so that means a lot!). It was a pleasure to do business with them."

"I wanted my roof to look better and needed someone to kill off some moss, lichens and darkening stains on the roof. The crew did a great job. Very professional. Cleaned up perfectly at the end. I really appreciate they used non-chlorine bleach to kill all growths. Living on a lake, it was very important to me that they not add any phosphates or chlorine to the lake water. They even patched a roof leak! I would heartily recommend Roof Renew Pros."

"Al and his team are fantastic. They came out on a Saturday to diagnose and repair a leak I had around a vent pipe in my roof. They always do quality, detailed work. They had painted my house last year and I still get compliments on how nice and clean everything looks. If you need any work outside or in call Al and his team."

"They stayed in close contact from the day Angies list recommended them until the day they performed the work.  <br /> They advised us how to prepare and recommended us to a chimney mason  who needed to complete chimney work before the roof could be done   and they  they came  to do the roof   1 day after chimney work was completed.  <br />"

"I used Atticrawl for one of my historically old buildings, thought raccoons where entering to the attic. the smell of death was horrendous!!!! Luckily into the incredibly thorough cleanout and removal down to the insulation they found it to be squirrels . they sealed all access points and shared photos. Fantastic customer service communications with Ryan Abraham before during and after the job! He even shared photos of the chimney seal so my husband didn't have to go on the roof !!!! FIVE STARS!!!!"

"Good Quality Work - Fair Pricing (Rare) A.K. Gatsios knew their business very well and were able to answer our detailed questions, as we had interviewed many roofing companies before choosing them so we were extremely thorough with our vetting process. We removed the old roof, and replaced the entire roof including two skylights. The installers were professional and did good quality work. The entire project was completed in two days. They cleaned up the entire yard. They followed up to make sure everything was satisfactory. Our roof looks and functions great. We highly recommend their service with confidence."

"Once the job started in August, his workers arrived early each morning and worked hard all day. They were also responsive and professional in addressing our questions and concerns. During the week-long job, Vinny came to the house each day to show us pictures of the work in progress and to address any questions that arose. Upon our request, the workers even installed shingles on a Christmas stable we have in our garden! When the work was completed, the workers cleaned up and disposed of the related debris. We are happy with the results. It has rained hard a few times since the new roof was installed and my mother reports she no longer smells wet wood when it rains! We would recommend McLeod Brothers to a friend."

"The job was completed by the agreed upon price, and the house was secure and warm again, within a week, as Pete promised. The interior work will be ongoing, as it was the holidays, he will come back in a few weeks to finish the interior of the attic. As noted we have hire Pete during the last 4 years for various projects, if something breaks or is not working he comes back and tries to repair or re-install it. And it generally is a item that I purchased! through no fault of his that it has failed! There are times when a manufacture discontinues making the item and parts, so it is the homeowners responsibility to replace it at their cost, which we had to do once and realize it happens, it is part of the construction/renovation process!"

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Randolph, NJ

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
