"Mr. Do Carmo built a $30,000 paver patio for me less than three years ago. While building it I pointed out that we should add drainage but he assured me that it would not need it. Since I am not a contractor I took his word for it. Over the next two years, I reached out to him multiple times because the stones were sinking. He came by, free of charge, and re-leveled them and even added a drain pipe. After the drain pipe was added, I would go out during rain storms and see if it was working. To my surprise, it was not. After doing some research on my end I realized it was installed incorrectly so nothing was being drained. As of today, the far wall is slowly collpasing and coming apart. The railings are being ripped apart from each other, and the stones are separating. $30,000 for something that lasted less than three years. "I hired Mike because I wanted to support a family business?he seemed very nice, until he showed up with his young son, no older than 12, and had him sealing the driveway, no mask, and fully exposed to the fumes. I told Mike politely that I did not feel comfortable with his young son doing the work, and he immediately took offense, saying that he had been sealing driveways since he was ?8 years old? and saw no harm in it?then told me he would never have started my job & would never work for me again. "Mike and his team did a fantastic job. From the initial estimate to the demo and installation, everything went like clockwork. Mike's glass and tile guys were courteous, careful, neat and professional. All of the shower glass, marble bench seat and marble accent pieces were salvaged and reused which minimized the cost. The finished shower looks as good as new and the shower pan is an improvement as Mike used the schluter system which adds a layer of protection that makes it watertight. "Can't say enough good things about Vinny and Anchor Asphalt and Paving. They did an excellent, professional job on the repaving and even came back and did extra work. They listened to our concerns, took the time to explain everything and went out of their way to satisfy all of our needs. The road had not been paved in about 40 years, was badly rutted and had several areas of heavy ponding. Vinny even took the time to come out before starting the job so that he could view the road after a heavy rain so he would be able to see the issues in person and advise us on how to best alleviate the ponding.
