"Roman and his team transformed our home with exterior paint and repairing some external siding and chimney damage. His high quality attention to detail, thoughtful proactive care for our home, and efficient work were impressive. He was communicative about any thoughts or questions he had and it was clear his expertise made this project better than I had originally planned. The end result is that our home is now gorgeous - we’ve gotten so many compliments from neighbors and friends. "

"I had my house exterior painted. Nothing unusual, a basic one story home. Jerry had very competitive rates to get the job done, were very prompt in replying to any questions I had. His guys were very efficient in prepping the area and then getting all the painting done. Every spec of surface to be painted was covered and it's been a few months since the job was done and all the paint is holding on like new. Absolutely no complaints and I'd highly recommend!"

"Larry took on the incredibly ambitious project of renovating our 1914 Craftsman home, repainting the exterior, expanding the primary bathroom, refinishing floors, decking, stairwells, expanding and updating the kitchen, updating electrical and heating systems to modern standards, and so much more. The project is almost complete, but we were so excited that we wanted to write the review anyway! Throughout the process, Larry and his crew worked tirelessly to get things done, always focusing on quality and making sure we were happy with the work. Even partway through the project, neighbors were already commenting on how much they loved his color choices, and how much he and his crew cared about the project. Even given how large the project was, Larry and his crew tackled it head-on and got it done; he really brought out what made this home so special to us. We're really happy to have had the chance to work with Larry, and are really appreciating how wonderful our new home is thanks to him and his crew."

"We hired Starlight Remodeling team for a complete deck rebuild, including a pergola, new gutters and downspouts, and black matte cable railings. The results exceeded our expectations. The Trex composite decking looks clean and modern, and the cable railings really open up the space while still feeling sturdy and safe. The pergola adds great character and makes the deck much more usable year round. Dave and his team were easy to communicate with and clearly knew what they were doing. They stayed on schedule, kept the area tidy, and paid close attention to the finishing details. We are very happy with the work and would recommend them to anyone looking to upgrade their outdoor living area."

"I hired them in the middle of my job because I fell off my ladder. They were very flexible and picked up right where I left off. Good job cutting in the windows and trim detail. They showed up on time, were friendly, cleaned up and stuck to the price quoted. I'd hire again."

FAQs for exterior home or structure paint or stain projects in Redmond, WA

Painting vinyl siding is a budget-friendly way to revive curb appeal without paying for new panels. As long as the boards aren’t warped, cracked, or leaking, a coat of high-quality acrylic paint can buy you another five to 10 years before replacement.

Stick to lighter shades so the siding doesn’t soak up excess heat, and prep the surface well for the paint to bond. If you’re seeing rot or moisture damage, skip the paint and plan for new siding instead.

High-quality acrylic paint is recommended for vinyl siding. Acrylic paint adheres firmly to vinyl surfaces and resists peeling and fading, providing a sleek and long-lasting finish. Ensure the siding is thoroughly cleaned and prepared for optimal results. Your exterior painting pro has the expertise to properly prepare your siding’s surface to ensure proper adhesion.

Priming is not required if the vinyl siding remains in good condition and is properly cleaned. However, if the original color is severely faded or the panels have become porous, priming becomes essential. Priming provides a smooth, even base that improves paint adhesion and enhances durability, ensuring the acrylic finish adheres properly and lasts longer.

A paint sprayer is the quickest, most consistent way to coat vinyl siding. The fine mist reaches grooves a roller can miss and lays down an even layer in a fraction of the time. You’ll still need a brush for tight corners, but a sprayer slashes labor hours and reduces lap marks.

If you’re renting equipment, ask the supplier for a tip size made for exterior acrylics so the paint atomizes correctly and sticks to the siding.

Painted vinyl siding lasts between five and 10 years. The durability depends on the quality of the surface preparation and the local climate conditions. When the siding is thoroughly cleaned and prepped, and high-quality acrylic paint is used, the finish endures longer. In hotter regions, the lifespan may be closer to five years, while cooler climates help extend it.
