"Aldo and his team are extremely professional and respectful. He gave a fair price and did an amazing job. He always comes on time, and cleans up after work. I can’t say enough good this about him and his work and I would recommend him 100%. He’s done everything from plumbing, electrical, drywall and tiles. I hired him to install a kitchen backdrop and rehired him for multiple projects. Just recently he finished installing a new shower stall, vanity, lighting and bathroom floor. He also installed new lighting and replaced the basement drop ceiling with drywall. "

"If you’re looking for someone reliable, hardworking, and truly talented, I highly recommend Olvin for any construction or renovation work! He completely renovated my entire upstairs apartment and did an absolutely AMAZING job. The attention to detail, quality of work, and professionalism he showed throughout the whole project really impressed me. Olvin was always respectful, patient with all my questions and requests, and made sure everything was done the right way. The space looks beautiful now and you can really tell he takes pride in his work. It’s not easy finding someone you can trust with your home, but Olvin definitely delivered beyond my expectations. If you need renovations, repairs, or construction work done, Olvin is the person to call. Thank you again for all the hard work — I truly appreciate it! "

"I am the proud home owner of this attic renovation. The attic feels even better in person. Honestly I was going to DIY the attic renovation, but I'm glad that I didn't. The Powers team were incredible. The thing I liked the most about working with them was the transparency from start to finish. Always clear upfront communication about costs and the plans. Also there was a willingness to be a creative problem solver to give us the best. I'm really glad I chose the Powers team. Looking forward to working with them again in the future. Sincerely Ronald Catucci"

FAQs for tile: ceramic and porcelain repair projects in Rego Park, NY

People use the terms refinishing, resurfacing, and reglazing interchangeably. Refinishing is a process that repairs old tiles and gives them a fresh new coat of finish. This is also called tile resurfacing or reglazing.

Yes, you can refinish tiles as a DIY project, but it’s important to follow all the steps involved. These include the following:

  1. Clean the tiles or hire a local tile cleaning service to remove all the residue (soap film, oil, grease, and dirt).

  2. Etch the tile to ensure the refinishing solution adheres properly.

  3. Fill in any cracks or chips in the tile.

  4. Recoat the grout.

  5. Repair any missing or damaged caulking where applicable.

  6. Apply the refinishing product, primer, and enamel.

Your newly reglazed tile should last between 10 and 15 years with proper installation. However, higher-traffic areas and moisture may result in a reduced life span. Explore the cost of different tile types to determine which material works best for your home and needs.

Your bathtub and tile refinishing cost will likely seem like a small price to pay for the transformation it offers. Provided your tile and grout are both intact, refinishing will bring a brand-new style at a fraction of the cost.

Yes, most ceramic tile is paintable with specific epoxy or tile paints. However, you’ll want to avoid areas of heavy use or moisture, such as countertops, showers, and bathtubs. Paint can crack, bubble, or wear away over time, especially on floors.
