"The backyard of our home sloped towards the house, creating a negative grade. We called Turf Center on the recommendation of a family member to give us an estimate. Mary Ellen came out to assess our situation. The job ended up being much more extensive than we had anticipated due to a few factors that our home inspector and even our contractor (who we like very much) had overlooked, but Mary Ellen caught. Grading couldn't be performed under the deck without removing part of it, so we opted to remove the entire thing. Additionally there was a hidden basement window under the deck that we hadn't even noticed ourselves. Turf Center took care of this for us, including removing and bricking-in the basement window to allow for proper placement of a vent there. We also had them remove a huge section of asphalt to allow for proper grading. One of the bigger expenses was having them dig out the entire foundation and water-proof it, but we felt this was well worth the peace of mind. The home had mold growth inside the basement which we believed was the result of water settling around the foundation. The grading they did came out wonderfully and the sod they laid looked beautiful. It totally transformed our backyard. We want to have them back in a few years to work their magic on some other areas of the yard that need attention. Though Turf Center is expensive, their work was wonderful and completely very quickly. And it was great to have such a wide range of problems solved by one contractor."

"Everything taken care of except for limb on power line, which Bartlett said they were not allowed to touch. They said that they would call Dominion Electric to take care of the limb on the power line. I don't know if they did call Dominion Electric, because I had to call Dominion twice to get the limb removed. Bartlett also took care of a number of other dead limbs. They spent a full day on site."

I'd give them an "A" overall and for everything but price, for price I'd give them a "B". I'll be using them again next year. My first impression was they were very professional. Had 1 guy come out to do the service. The first person that came out identified my problem, he had the advantage of looking at my lawn at my home versus having me taking a brick size piece of sod to other companies. No one else was able to diagnose it, he was able to let me know right away this is what is causing XYZ. He solved half the problem right away. He was very knowledgeable, Peter and then Matt is their chemical expert and he's very knowledgeable too. I have just enough knowledge to get myself in trouble but enough to have a conversation with them about different types of grasses and what not. I learned a lot from them."

Adam arrived a few minutes early, which was wonderful, and looked carefully at each of our three large trees in the front yard. He then explained the issues with each tree and made suggestions for each one for now and for the future. He arranged to do the work two days later. Adam himself showed up with the crew right on time on the service day, and he introduced me to all of the crew members. When the invoice came, it didn't reflect a discount I'd purchased via Angie's list, but Alice fixed the problem within hours. Their emails, telephone calls, and in-person contacts were among the most professional I've ever encountered with home-services providers.
