"Not very professional. They didn’t have any equipment; I ended up renting all the equipment on my credit card. At first the wrong equipment was ordered so I ended up paying for a bigger machine. I was charged for an extra day from what I was told. I also ordered concrete for the driveway. He used the machine and the some of the concrete I ordered to fix my neighbor’s entrance way; before he poured my driveway. Also I wasn’t given the information I couldn’t drive on it for 5 days until after they finished. My credit card was charged a couple of months after the job was done. (I did get this straighten out) I paid about $2500.00 over the estimate. The finished product do look good, besides the fact that they tore up my lawn."

"B & B Construction is an exceptional company, I could not have been more pleased with my experience. I built a new house recently and B&B came highly recommend as a company to form/pour my driveway. I met with Johnny explained what I wanted, and requested a bid.....B&Bs bid was more than fare but the reason I chose them to form/pour my driveway was because of their knowledge, professionalism, and the time they spent with me making sure I was going to get what I was paying for. After my driveway was complete I had so much confidence in B&B that I hired them to grade my yard, landscape my beds, install irrigation system, and sod my yard. I believe the thing I like most about B&B is that Johnny and his son (Little Blue) are hands on and are on the job site the entire time.....having gone through the home building process several times it is very rare that you have business owners on site to oversee the work to make sure things are done as they should be. If you are looking for a professional, honest, experienced (over 60 years between the two owners), punctual, knowledgeable, and responsive construction company to handle your concrete or landscaping needs....look no further than B&B Construction. My wife and I could not have been anymore satisfied and feel very fortunate to have not only done business but have also become friends with these guys."

"The driveway looks great but there are some problems that I am concerned about. Cracks are forming and since the invoice does not state the type of cement poured, our verbal conversation was that it was to be fiber. I do not like the way if was poured over the ditch because it's only been a month and since it started cracking within a week, I am very concerned. As the value for money, I don't know yet. Although I do know that cement cracks, it should not have cracks forming within a week of pour. The method of cover and design is well done except where it meets the street, yet there are things I would have done differently . I recommend him for the design quality, but get a written detailed invoice."

FAQs for concrete driveways & floors installation projects in Ridgeland, MS

Whether terrazzo is better than porcelain or ceramic tiles for a kitchen or bathroom floor depends on your design preference. Terrazzo can last a long time, but so can a properly installed ceramic tile floor. According to the National Association of Home Builders, the lifespan of a ceramic tile floor is 75 to 100 years, similar to terrazzo.

You should clean terrazzo floors like you would marble, even if there’s no marble in the aggregate. Avoid abrasive cleaners that can scratch the polished surface, and steer clear of acidic cleaners like vinegar, which can damage the surface. Instead, use plain water or a neutral cleaner to mop the floor. Then, use a wet vac or squeegee to remove the dirty water. Regular buffing with a soft cloth can help you maintain the shine.

Terrazzo is made by mixing an aggregate like glass or stone with a binder like cement or epoxy. The mix is made and poured into the prepared space you designate. Alternatively, you can purchase prefabricated terrazzo tiles, which consist of similar materials. They’re poured into a mold and cured before installation.

You can add radiant heating under a terrazzo floor, which is an excellent way to combat the naturally cold surface of terrazzo floors. Installing radiant heating costs $1,653 to $6,656. You'll want to install the heating elements under the thin-set epoxy because the layer is thin enough for the warmth to conduct through the floor.

Making your own terrazzo can be a tricky DIY project. The exact mix takes a blend of art and skill to create and requires the expertise of a terrazzo pro. The wrong blend could crack, peel, or break easily, requiring expensive repairs. Finishing and polishing the floor also requires previous experience to achieve a professional appearance. Expect to pay between $200 and $2,500 for the cost of restoring and polishing floors.

Terrazzo flooring is eco-friendly because it is crafted using recycled materials such as glass, marble, and polished metal, and its epoxy binder emits no VOCs once cured. This sustainable manufacturing approach minimizes waste and supports green building practices. Homeowners gain an attractive flooring option, contributing to healthier indoor air quality and environmental conservation.
