"When it came to having the exterior of our 1916, two-story, stucco home and detached garage painted, we chose Jay’s Painting Service based on the many excellent reviews the company received on Angie’s List. In the end, Jay and his crew lived up to those comments. When we called to get a price estimate, Jay came to our home the very next morning (a Sunday) and did a walk-around with us. He uses quality paint – in our case, Sherman Williams -- and had us visit the local store to view samples. Jay and a crewman came on a Saturday morning to pressure-wash the exterior. Jay politely met with a neighbor to arrange to work in that person’s driveway and to answer questions about the project. On Monday morning, he and his crew arrived promptly and began preparing our home’s extensive wood trim, which includes large eaves, two French doors and 32 windows (20 original old sash). Jay, Josh, Anton and the rest of the five-man crew were friendly, courteous and hardworking. They arrived on time each day and put in a full day’s work, pausing only for lunch. At the end of each day, they did a thorough cleanup and stored their equipment in an out-of-the-way spot. Whenever questions arose, Jay always consulted us. He made sure the job was being done the way we wanted. Then there were the extras. Jay expertly patched some stucco that needed repair, and he fixed a damaged garage-door frame. He also put us in touch with a construction-contractor friend who ended up doing an excellent modification of our patio roof overhang. Overall, we could not have chosen a better painting service. We thought Jay’s price was fair for our size home, considering all the window/trim work and spraying on two coats of quality paint. It was also important to us that he had years of experience working on older homes in the Land Park/Curtis Park area. We are so pleased with the end result and have already received compliments from neighbors and passers-by. We would definitely use Jay’s Painting Service again."
