"This experience started off great. TKO Renovations responded very quickly and came to give an estimate of the work that was needed. We verbally agreed to hire TKO Renovations to complete the work. They asked that half of the costs be paid up front and also the costs for the permits needed. That costs was paid by check in the amount of $1750 ($1500 for the half of the costs, and $250 for the permits needed) on February 8th. On February 13th, they sent a message stating they would be able to start on February 14 because they were still waiting on paperwork (meaning permits). On February 14th they said they were still waiting on permit approval. On the evening of 2/15, they called and asked for measurements and pictures of the door stating those items were needed for approval of the permit. The pictures were sent the following morning on 2/16. There wasn't any communication until 2/18 when I asked what time TKO Renovations would be starting the job. Didn't hear back until the afternoon of 2/19 stating the paperwork was done and they could get the materials on 2/20 and start the job. The question was asked what time the work would be started on 2/20 and the response was "I'll have to keep you posted on an exact time. I have a meeting in the morning and then I'll have to pick up materials." On 2/20, they called and said they were sick and diagnosed with strep, and wouldn't be able to work that day, but would try to start the next day. They were told to take care of themselves and once they were feeling better the job could be started. They stated they were going to come on 2/28 to get started and then sent a message stating the weather turned out weird and they were going to start the next day, 2/29. A message was sent on the afternoon of 2/29 asking for an update because no one showed up to start the work that was agreed upon. The evening of 2/29, a message was sent to TKO Renovations stating there hadn't been any work done as agreed upon within the last few days, and asking for a refund so the work could get done by someone else since they hadn't met any of their commitments this far in the verbal agreements. Another message was sent on 3/1 asking for a refund. there wasn't a response from TKO Renovations until 3/3, and this is what the message was: "Good evening, I'd just like to say I am so very very sorry for how this has gone, this is not typical of me. I broke my phone and just now was able to get a replacement and restore contacts and messages today. I got your messages today and I am very sorry for your frustration. I would absolutely love to be able to complete the project for you but I also totally understand where you are coming from. If you'd like I can return the materials tomorrow and send you a check back. Or if you'd allow me I can come and complete the job asap and I'd be willing to take some money of in an attempt to try to express my apologies. Obviously I'll understand if you choose not to allow me to but either way I am very sorry. I've never had this happen with a job to have so many set backs. So just let me know what you'd like me to do and I can mail you the check so you'll have it back by end of week. Or I can go ahead and complete it. My sincere apologies. I hope you enjoy your evening." A message was sent back on 3/3 stating if TKO Renovations could complete the job by end of day that Tuesday, 3/5, then they could complete the job. A message was received from TKO Renovations on 3/4: "Yes I can have it done. Biggest thing will be the metal. If you are needing it done by tomorrow then we will have to get whatever colors Home Depot or Menards has in stock which may limit color options. But I am loading tools now and I will head there." There was a message sent back because TKO Renovations stated previously they already had the materials to start the build of the awning, and that was in question with from their previous message. This was their response on 3/4 at approximately 9:30AM: "Sorry was trying to call because I'm driving. I'm about 20 minutes away. I have all materials to build with the exception of the metal for the top. I have all the lumber, nails, screws, etc. we never got to the point of picking a metal color so I didn't get that yet. I didnt want to buy one without you having a chance to decide a color." They were present at my home at approximately 11:15AM on 3/4. I received a text at 2:40 on 3/4 to ask if I could talk regarding the work that was pending. I was told the trigger on their saw broke so they couldn't do any more work for the day and they would come back the next day and the job should be completed. The afternoon on 3/5 was rain, and TKO couldn't make it down during the morning before the rain. They stated they were waiting out the rain at the waffle house to see if they could complete the work. The rain cleared up on 3/5 and TKO was present for approximately an hour at my home. There wasn't any communication until 3/7 when we called TKO to get a status on when they woud be returning to complete the job agreed upon. They stated they were ill again, but they would be completing the job the following Tuesday or Wednesday A message was received from TKO on 3/11 stating: "Metal is order. I'm going to pick up tomorrow afternoon. I'm going to bring help on Wednesday because I'm unable to hold boards up alone. We should be able to get everything done on Wednesday. I plan to stay late if needed to get it completed." TKO did not show up to complete the job or send a message stating why. There was no communication from TKO at this point, and a message was sent to TKO on 3/14 stating this: "At this point I need copies of the permits you have so I can have another contractor build the awning and fix the door frame. You haven't shown up on multiple occasions when you said you would. I also need the receipts for the materials you bought so I can figure out how much money I am owed back from a job you haven't completed." No response was received from TKO, and there was another message sent on 3/17 stating: "Andrew, it's pretty obvious @ this point that you're either unwilling or unable to complete the job we hired you for. Communication has been difficult, but I wanted to reach out & remind you that we are looking for materials receipts & labor itemization for the hour & a half or so that you've worked for us. Then we would like a refund of the $1750 less those expenses within the next 7 days. Your attention to this matter is appreciated so that we can move forward w our new contractor in securing our flooring warranty. As soon as the refund is received, we will release your ladders and level to you." There has been no response from TKO Renovations."

The manufacturing process for porcelain pavers involves sophisticated techniques that create exceptionally dense, non-porous materials. Clay components undergo extreme high-temperature firing that produces remarkable durability and consistency.
The precision manufacturing ensures uniform dimensions and thickness, while advanced glazing processes create weather-resistant surfaces with consistent coloration that withstands years of sun exposure without fading.
Porcelain pavers are highly durable and designed for long-term outdoor use. Their exceptional resistance to moisture, freezing conditions, UV exposure, and physical stress makes them one of the most enduring paving materials available. With proper installation and minimal maintenance, porcelain pavers maintain their appearance and structural integrity for decades, often outlasting alternative paving materials.
Yes, existing concrete can serve as a base for new porcelain pavers if the concrete is structurally sound without significant cracking or settling. By installing porcelain pavers over existing concrete, you may avoid demolition expenses that can add $2,000 to $10,000 to your project.
Professional assessment is essential to determine whether your concrete provides a suitable foundation and which installation method—pedestal systems or direct adhesion—will deliver the best results.
