"It was taking longer and longer for our clothes dryer to dry our clothes. We couldn't find anything wrong with our dryer so I called Captain Clean to have them come out and inspect and clean our dryer vent. Gary found that the vent pipe was plugged and he needed every tool he had to remove the blockage. It took longer than expected because of the blockage which increased the cost. Seeing that plugged dryer vents are a leading cause of house fires and I didn't have to crawl into the crawl space to clean this, I feel this was money well spent. <br /> You will find less expensive companies but you really get the service you pay for. Gary didn't rush through anything, provided top notch service, was extremely thorough, cleaned up after himself and his work showed he is a true professional. <br />"

"If I could rate higher than 5 starts, I would!! Brian did an EXCEPTIONAL job. We were originally quoted $1800 by another cleaning service in Rochester just to have our ducts and dryer vent cleaned. MedCity Duct Cleaning charged quite LITERALLY a fraction of that ($300!!). Brian was very respectful and explained the whole process in depth. He even looked into our vents to see how dirty they were and there was hardly anything in there. The company that quoted us the 1800 said they were EXTREMELY dirty and needed to be cleaned. Brian was up front and honest with us through the whole process. I could not recommend them enough. HIRE MED CITY DUCT CLEANING FOR ALL OF YOUR DUCT CLEANING NEEDS!!!!"

"Environmental Testing & Research Laboratories, Inc. sent a package with 2 vials and instructions for collecting the samples.  I collected the samples as instructed, completed a questionnaire, and returned the sample vials as instructed.  A week or two later they sent the analysis.  Everything went as expected.  There were no problems. <br />"

"Everything was great. Dispatch called to let me know they were on the way, I like that. They were on time. They made sure to clean up after themselves, you wouldn't even know they were here."

"Everything went splendid with K&S, and without them, I may still be without heat (in Minnesota, in March). Brian spent way more time than he should have had to, dealing with a lazy home warranty company, and ensuring that I knew that they were trying to give me a cheap replacement for the first rate unit that was there. He took the time to school me on what to tell them, so I didn't sound like the ignorant homeowner that I was . I now have a super efficient brand new Lennox furnace in my home, thanks to K&S heating. I was so impressed with their service, I applied to work there."

"The blower motor on my furnace was squeeling, and not working at all most times.  When I spun the squirrel cage manually it would work for a short time, but then finally got to the point where it wasnt working at all.  Just a hummy noise.  When I called them, I left a message and within hours I got a call back.  I explained what I thought was wrong and they confirmed that it sounded like a bad blower motor, or to try the starter capacitor first.  I got a capacitor first and swapped out, but no luck.  Then got in touch with them again and within a hour got a new motor to swap out.   He was very easy going and said I could swap it out myself if I wanted and then if I had problems, to call them and they could come out.  I attempted the swap, but I could not get the squirrel cage off the old motor.  I called them the next day and they came out that same day and finished the work for me using the right tools.  Within a hour and a half, I was up and working again and have been working fine ever since.  a new blower motor and starting capacitor was changed.  I would recommend them in the future to anyone."

"They were very thorough.  They did a good job.  It took call day to do it and it was only one person.  He took all the registers off in every room and cleaned all of it.  He had a machine with a camera so he could see it while he was cleaning the duct.  He did a super job.  We are confident that the ducts are clean now.  The price was okay and mostly higher than some of the others."

FAQs for air ducts & vents cleaning service projects in Rochester, MN

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) states that air duct cleaning is not required unless visible issues such as mold buildup, rodent droppings, or excessive dust are present. When such conditions exist, cleaning becomes essential to protect indoor air quality and maintain HVAC efficiency. This approach minimizes potential health risks and extends the system’s life.

Air ducts must be cleaned every three to five years as required by NADCA to preserve system efficiency and indoor air quality. The EPA insists that cleaning is necessary only when significant issues such as mold, pest infestations, or heavy dust accumulation are evident. Annual inspections by a certified professional promptly address any emerging concerns.

The ideal seasons for air duct cleaning are spring and fall. Cleaning during these periods prepares your HVAC system for the demands of both winter heating and summer cooling. These seasons provide moderate weather conditions that enable efficient service completion while minimizing disruption, ensuring your system performs at its peak.

Professional air duct cleaning takes a fixed duration of two to five hours, depending on the home’s size and the complexity of the duct system. Smaller residences with standard ductwork complete the service in two hours, while larger homes with extensive ducts require up to five hours. Additional repairs may extend this duration.

To prepare for professional air duct cleaning, ensure all vents are unobstructed by moving nearby furniture and clearing pathways. Secure any pets in a safe area and confirm that your HVAC system units are easily accessible for technician inspection. Proper preparation contributes to a higher quality service outcome and prevents delays, allowing the cleaning process to proceed efficiently.
