I was sort of disappointed with the deep seeding that they did in the back but I was the one to blame, because I went to Maine and didn’t water the lawn for a while. But they told me that the seeds are still there. I am pleased with the front yard because there were so many weeds and they cured that problem and now it is just a matter of thickening up the back lawn but the soil around here is lousy. They were fine with the cleanup after they left. I was here when they did the deep seeding, the two workers that came were very prompt and very professional and they had two different machines and treated the lawn. I was happy with the fact that they solved the weed problem. I had such a terrible weed problem. The lawn is much better now."

"This wasn’t as good as I thought it would be. I had to call them too many times to schedule it and they didn’t come when they said they would come. There were extra fees that I wasn’t aware of. It wasn’t the greatest.   When I called they said they’ll get back to me and I let them know the time I wanted it done. If they call me on Monday or Tuesday and I said when can you come out, can you come out Wednesday or Thursday maybe they came Friday. I stayed around the house thinking they were going to call or thinking they were going to come back at a certain time. It’s just wasn’t timely.  I remembered them saying they’ll be back the next day and I press them for time a time because they weren’t sure of other jobs they would do. And I said ok give me some idea and they didn’t call me back the next day, they showed up the following day. I just came home and saw that they were here.  It took them two visits to do what I wanted them to do. When they got here and I explained what I wanted to have done, we talk on the phone about it they said they had to see it and when they got out here they tell me the price I paid was hardly anything. The whole reason they were to come out was to cut down this bush in front and clean up the yard and they did not have the bush included at all. When he looked at the bush he said the bush was deal and I said yea I know, I’d like for you to remove it. The yard is a very small yard. It’s a town yard in an inner unit with somebody either side of me and there is a side walk in my yard. So I didn’t have much to start with. The key to it is the communication, taking and their availability. It’s ok if you tell me I can’t come today and you’ll be here tomorrow between such and such time.  Don’t keep me hanging. I was disappointed because we were emailing back and forth for date and time. They should be more transparent about what they can and cannot do and the price."

"The backyard of our home sloped towards the house, creating a negative grade. We called Turf Center on the recommendation of a family member to give us an estimate. Mary Ellen came out to assess our situation. The job ended up being much more extensive than we had anticipated due to a few factors that our home inspector and even our contractor (who we like very much) had overlooked, but Mary Ellen caught. Grading couldn't be performed under the deck without removing part of it, so we opted to remove the entire thing. Additionally there was a hidden basement window under the deck that we hadn't even noticed ourselves. Turf Center took care of this for us, including removing and bricking-in the basement window to allow for proper placement of a vent there. We also had them remove a huge section of asphalt to allow for proper grading. One of the bigger expenses was having them dig out the entire foundation and water-proof it, but we felt this was well worth the peace of mind. The home had mold growth inside the basement which we believed was the result of water settling around the foundation. The grading they did came out wonderfully and the sod they laid looked beautiful. It totally transformed our backyard. We want to have them back in a few years to work their magic on some other areas of the yard that need attention. Though Turf Center is expensive, their work was wonderful and completely very quickly. And it was great to have such a wide range of problems solved by one contractor."

"After explaining my backyard erosion issues on the phone, I made an appointment to meet with J&G Landscape Design to show Jeff Potter the eroded area in person.  After studying the sinkhole damage and drainage downspouts, he developed a plan to reroute the rain water and replace defective pipes and joints that were also leaking water into the garage.  He sketched his plan out for me and charged $75.00 for his analysis/recommendation.  This sum would be applied as a credit toward the cost of any work I had done.  I agreed to use J&G and signed a contract detailing the work and payment schedule and paid $181.00 at that time in June.  They explained they would start my project in a few months if that suited my schedule.  The work was done in early September since I was out of town in August when they were ready to start.  The work was done quickly to lay new pipes with clean-outs that were routed under the lawn into a large drain lined with stones.  The eroded area was filled with new dirt, tamped down securely and shrubs returned to their places.  Mulch was placed over the rebuilt area and the lawn sod replaced and watered well.  The clean-up was very thorough.  The job took about 1 1/2 days to complete Now I am looking forward to a big rain storm to see how it all works to keep the garage dry and backyard protected from erosion. I recommend this company for their engineering ability and landscaper skills.  Many companies I interviewed seemed daunted by this type of project but J&G seemed to enjoy the challenge of figuring out an appropriate remedy."
