"We have been working with Baker Roofing company through our HOA. We had initially been told by a different company we needed a complete replacement, but were told by Baker they could repair the damage without a complete replacement. We had a continued issue with leaks affecting our breaker box two weeks after Baker Roofing completed their repairs and assured us that our roof was in good shape. They continue to insist that they did good work and not at fault for any of the issues we are having. We had a third opinion from a private contractor who gave us the following picture and evaluation."

"I’d like to talk about my experience with Southern National Roofing. Stay as far away from the company as you possibly can. I’ve done a good amount of different sales jobs throughout my time but this was like nothing of all. Originally when interviewing, they told me I’d be making 8-12% of all projects sold and that their average roof was about 15/20k. I was told, If I were to discount the sale I would keep the that 8-12%. I was also told that due to flying from pa to Charolette for the training I’d be reimbursed for my travel if it does or doesn’t work. When I arrived to the first day of training, they first preached their “core values” of being “honest, having integrity” etc. within the first 10 minutes of being there. The sales manager Gary asked “beyond this sales role, is anyone here looking for advancement into management?” Everyone in the room besides 3 people and 1 that didn’t hear the question raised their hand. Gary then says “you, you, you and you please leave immediately, I know what I’m looking for and that’s not it.” Yet the job posting specifically asks for money-motivated individuals with a strong background of sales success. The person that did not hear the question then interjects and says “I did not hear the question sir” yet, Gary the sales manager, did not care. After Gary’s aggressive tactics to get the gentleman whom did not hear the question to leave the room. After back and forth for a full minute the gentleman left. Most people in the room knew something was wrong. I almost walked out right then and there. I stayed in my seat surprisingly and continued the first day. When going over the payment compensation, it was completely different than I was told in the interviews. 7% at par then 10% on top of anything above par. Then the more discount the extreme the drop of commission. They then go on to say their average roof is between 25/35k. I received more of the script in the later days and it felt as if their script was dishonest and shady and it didn’t feel right. The script says you’ve been in the roofing industry for over 10 years (a lie to the customer.) After that day, I go up to Gary and I ask, “I believe I was one of the only people who flew down here from pa, if things don’t workout I still get that travel reimbursement correct?” He says, “we invested $150 a day into your hotel.” I was surprised that was the response I got. I go on to say “I need to know financially if I will be reimbursed.” Gary then says, “yes you’ll be reimbursed.” I walk in the next day after understanding the script was dishonest and not for a strong morality person like myself. I go up to Gary and I ask for the travel reimbursement. Gary then tells me he will not be reimbursing me for my travel due to my premature leave, even though the day before it was promised to me. Conclusion: in the first 3 days I understood I was lied to 3 different times by 3 different people. The company frames it as this unique opportunity to make tons of money, this is partially true with their close % but after running their numbers myself. Their close % doesn’t match up to the revenue they reported last year (possibly another lie but I can’t prove that). The interviews do whatever they can to bait you into at least going to the training class. They fired 3 people on the spot after asking what I believe to be a trick question. Genuinely, they could’ve just said they were looking for people to move up in the interviews and turned people away in the interviews. Instead of wasting peoples time and money to come down here. Some people drive 3/4 hours just to be turned away by a trick question, and fired one for not hearing the question. I was told I’d be reimbursed for my travel the day before just for the sales manager Gary to go back on his word. This company is the lowest of the low when it comes to sales and those who have morality and looking for at least a decent company culture, stay as far away as you can. For those whom do not care what they say to people as long as they get a sale, try it out maybe. But at the end of the day, if they preach honesty and transparency it was nowhere to be found on the first couple days, what do you think is gonna happen 2/3 months later. Overall this was the worst sales experience I’ve been apart of and couldn’t be happier I left earlier without wasting anymore time on an untrustworthy employer."

We are a full service General Contractor but we also offer many small services to help you with any needs. We do all kinds of new construction from residential to commercial and also offer many maintenance choices from your yard to your roof.
"Communication was great. The house is tall and on a hill. We talked to 3 different companies about doing the work. One company chose not to do it because the house is tall and sits on a hill. Of the other two companies, Total Construction had the best estimate and the people were so nice. I'm so glad they came out to do the work. Each day they cleaned up behind themselves and made it easy for my family to live in the home even though the work was being done. Everything looks so nice now. I know some of my neighbors will be using this company now because they loved watching the work & the outcome!! Great Company!!! Highly recommended!!"

Rubber shingles last for 30 years on average, while some products may include warranties for up to 50 years. In comparison, asphalt shingles last between 15 and 30 years. The actual lifespan depends on installation quality, local climate conditions, and routine maintenance. Rubber materials offer better resistance to weathering, UV exposure, and physical impacts than traditional asphalt products.
Many rubber shingles incorporate recycled materials, particularly from used tires, which helps divert waste from landfills. Their extended lifespan means fewer replacements and less manufacturing impact over time. The durability of rubber roofing contributes to resource conservation compared to materials requiring more frequent replacement. These environmental benefits make rubber shingles appealing to sustainability-minded homeowners.
Rubber shingles perform well across diverse climate conditions thanks to their inherent flexibility and weather resistance. They maintain their structural integrity during freeze-thaw cycles in colder regions and resist UV degradation in sunny areas. The material adapts to temperature fluctuations without becoming brittle or cracking. Professional installation techniques can be adjusted to address specific regional weather challenges.
Rubber shingles demonstrate excellent resistance to impacts from hail and flying debris during storms. Their flexibility allows them to withstand high winds without breaking or becoming dislodged, and the material's water-resistant properties provide protection during heavy rainfall. In regions prone to severe weather, look for rubber shingles with appropriate wind and impact ratings certified for your area's typical conditions.
Some color fading may occur with prolonged sun exposure, though this varies by manufacturer and specific product line. Regular cleaning helps maintain appearance by removing dirt buildup that can make the roof look dull. Consult with your roofing contractor about expected appearance changes for the specific rubber shingles you're considering.
