"If you’ve lived in North Texas long, you’ve probably had your roof repaired or replaced, usually due to hail and/or high winds. I’ve had at least 4 roofs in 2 different houses the best I can recall. In Texas, roofing companies are not licensed like plumbers and electricians. So due diligence is recommended when you need a roofing company. The first thing I did was call my insurance agent. She gave me a list of 3 or 4 that she has had experience with and so the search begins. I ended up with Lon Smith Roofing in Fort Worth for several reasons. First and perhaps foremost, they’ve been in business since 1974. Second their BBB report is exemplary. Third they are a recommended company on Angi. I first met with Thomas who provided an estimate for repairs. This had to be compared to what my insurance estimator had provided but there were no issues there. After a couple of conversations with Thomas, I was convinced that an upgraded shingle was worth the extra money. After speaking with my insurance agent, I also discovered I would be saving a considerable amount on my home owner’s policy. Enough to cover the cost of the upgrade in 2 years! Not to mention, less likely to be damaged in the future. Another savings (deductibles!) Another surprise was it is quieter. One morning I went outside to get the paper and found it was raining…hard. I didn’t even hear it inside. Thomas was easy to work with. I was able to schedule the installation when I was going to be out of town. You don’t want to be inside your house when a new roof is installed. After the installation was complete, I found the yard clean and free of debris. The flower beds were protected although I did find one flower stem bent. I then received a call and visit from David who was the on-site supervisor and quality control inspector. He asked to come inside to make sure none of the vents (HVAC, water heater) to the roof had come loose during the installation. They hadn’t. I showed him a few cracks and nail pops that had appeared. He took pictures and had repairmen out to repair them the next week! All I can say is that this is a reputable company that is easy to work with from both the customer and the insurance company’s perspective. I can easily recommend Lon Smith Roofing."

A recent visit to my home by Bob Nankervis @ T Rock Roofing made me understood their business values are driven by: Customer Relation/Focus -Be honest, reliable and establish sustainable relation with customer -Do not oversell-> Fix what really need to be fixed- nothing more. As a new home owner this worked very well solving a recent roof issue at my home at DFW area in which Roof Mount Attic Cover blew off due to strong winds. I was checking about this to my neighbors and was cautioned to fix it ASAP and I started working with roofing company's to get an assessment; 1]Linear Roofing Conveyed that there is roof damage and resultant leak due to recent hail in the area and asked to fail a insurance claim and work with them for whole roof replacement. I personally checked the roof to the best of my ability and did not see striking signs/ indication to convince me that roof is ready to be replaced, but I am not an expert to conclude that, so I was still with more questions and concerns. 2]Dwell Roofing and Exteriors Provided an estimate of $450 to replace the roof mount unit with free addons like seal, paint screws, but confirmed there is no Roof Damage / Leak to be worried about. They conveyed Roof Mount unit part will cost $250 and reusing the old vent cover may not be the best idea, but If I decide to do it they can fix it for $425. So a overall diff of $25 replacing the "whole unit" versus reusing the "old cover". Honestly, I didn't not understand the math. At this time I was still concerned about who's word should I go with, so checked with T Rock as suggested my friend; 3]T Rock Roofing Bob Nankervis from T Rock Roofing inspected my roof and conveyed that there is NO roof damage due to hail/wind and reused the old vent cover and fixed everything free of charge. What I was impressed is not free of charge, but his politeness in explaining my roof condition-> what may be the reason for existing some wear and tear and more importantly the care he showed towards the customer. I was convinced and was truly ready to pay $$$'s and checked with him about service charge- but he refused conveying that he just have to tighten few bolts and simply cannot charge for that. At this point, I knew who should I call/recommend next time when there is a roof issue."

"My project was for new roof n gutters, I had to have my old 3 layers of shingles removed. The team that demolished old roof shingles did a good job. Although it was a messy task, plastic sheeting was laid down n all material was disposed off. New plywood was laid down, there were a couple of spots that the plywood was not laying completely flat n was addressed. New shingles were installed in 2 days n look great. For the new seamless gutter install, the existing fascia needed painting but Newhaus wanted an extra 4,000.00 dollars to do it. So I hired a separate painter to do it for less than half the price. The gutters proposed were not the style I wanted n had to have them switch to what I wanted. The new gutters were installed n look great. Overall I am satisfied with the quality of the work n materials used although there were a couple leaks at corners that has to be re-sealed. However dealing with Newhaus could have been better, upon signing the contract online I did not hear from them for over a week to let me know the status or when work would start. I had to text the original sales guy to ask what was going on. The were also a couple of times workers did not show up when scheduled or were late from time that they were supposed to show up."

Brian, the owner, called me on a weekend when I was panicked and had been told my insurance was being cancelled due to the age of my roof. He calmed me down, explained the process and even met with the insurance company adjuster to make sure the roof replacement would be fully covered! The day of the install the arrived at 8:45 and were finished by 4:30. They cleaned up entirely and I now have a beautiful Rustic Brown Architectural asphalt shingle roof.
